I'd just like to take a minute to thank and congratulate Craig & Alli Wilson on their amazing achievements at Mother Goose Baby Shop.
Craig & Alli jumped on board as one of major sponsors as soon as I approached them and supported our event all 4 years, the Wilson family were also major fundraisers and really helped drive our event to be as successful as it was raising funds for children's charities in Tasmania.
Operating a small business is tough, especially at the moment, so 16 years in business is a major accomplishment.
Congratulations Craig & Alli on 16 years and thankyou for all you have done and given to numerous local charities, we wish you all the best on your future endeavors!

This is a day Craig and I weren’t quite prepared to face, yet here we are. After sixteen and a half years of business, we have made the decision to close Mother Goose to coincide with the conclusion of our lease. Our doors will officially close on June 20th.
This has been a gut-wrenching decision. Between the rising costs of running a small business, the shift in retail landscapes, and the increasing pressure to price match big business, we are now accepting that it is time to give up the fight and let go of our business.
To those who may not know, Craig and I have both been working two additional jobs outside of the business, doing everything in our power to keep the doors open. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the challenges were simply too great.
We started this journey, simply wanting to create a retail experience that felt like family. We never sought awards or accolades. For us, the greatest reward was always the nervous, excited smile of a first-time parent, or the look of love and pride when you brought your new baby back into the store to meet us. We have also shared in your heartbreaks, shedding tears for the families who experienced loss, always hoping that brighter days would find you.
Throughout our journey, we have been incredibly fortunate to encounter remarkable individuals who have enriched our lives and our business. We have had the privilege of employing 15 locals. Massive thank you and shout out to Jenni and Rhiannon who were employed with us for 12 years, Hayley for 4 years and of course Gwenie who was with Mother Goose from the start, thank you. All of our staff put their heart and soul into making our business run smoothly and efficiently. To all of our staff over the years, thank you. The lifelong friendships we have formed during this time will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Our staff, our team, our extended family will be deeply missed, and their contributions will always be cherished.
As we look back, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. We are forever thankful to the families who invited us to be a part of their most sacred journeys. The friendships we’ve formed, watching your children grow, and—of course—the many baby cuddles we’ve been privileged to enjoy have been the true highlights of our Mother Goose lives.
Because of your loyal support, we’ve been able to give back to the community that gave us so much. Together, over the years, we’ve partnered with incredible organisations....

When you chose to shop small with us, you weren’t just keeping our dream alive; you were directly helping families in need.
We are proud of our drive for car seat safety, being strong advocates for Extended Rear Facing & best practice car seats, we have installed over 15,000 car seats with free Accredited Fitting and we have received over 600 x 5 star reviews across Google & Facebook for this service.
As we prepare to close this chapter, we do so knowing we gave this business and this community 110%. Back in 2010 we were just two young parents "giving retail a crack," never imagining it would grow into such a beautiful, long legacy which allowed us to be present and raise our four beautiful children who we are so proud of. Now its time to step back and simply see where life takes us next.
We would love to see your faces in store one last time over the next five weeks to say our goodbyes properly. You can catch Craig in the store on Saturdays, and I will be there on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays to say goodbye to all the beautiful humans who chose to support small.
Thank you for your love, support, and for being part of our story. Thank you for sharing yourselves with us, for laughing with us and at us (long live Love Actually).
