Over the last two days, our RDA horses have been making the trip to Maryborough to visit Dr Sally Whalan Black Diamond Park Equine Vet Clinic
for their routine dental care under sedation, along with their Hendra, Strangles and Tetanus vaccinations.

As many horse owners across the Fraser Coast know, Dr Sally is the only local veterinarian offering equine dental work. Providing our horses with dental treatment under sedation is extremely important to us, as it ensures a calm, relaxed and pain-free experience while allowing for a thorough assessment and treatment.

A huge thank you to Dr Sally for the compassionate, professional and expert care she provides to our wonderful horses. We are very grateful for your ongoing support of our herd and centre.

What a fantastic way to finish our final Saturday lesson day for Term 2! 🌟🐴

We are incredibly proud of all our riders and the progress they have made throughout the term. This week, every rider progressed to riding off the lead for varying amounts of time, with some even working on refining their rising trot skills – a wonderful achievement and a testament to their hard work and determination.

Our lessons included pre-lesson stretches to get everyone ready for riding, followed by a fun educational activity where riders used Teaching Aids for EAS horse flash cards to identify their horse’s breed and colour.

We also ventured out to the Rainbow Paddock, where riders put their horsemanship skills to the test by finding different coloured tyres and guiding their horses to walk through, over, or around them. It was a great combination of fun, confidence building, and skill development.

Our newer horses continue to impress us. Rubble and Sovereign, both signed off for programs, are showing us every week just how perfectly suited they are to this role. Our little Timon is also progressing very well through his training checklist and continues to develop into a promising future program horse.

Saturday lessons have now wrapped up for Term 2, while our Thursday riders have one more lesson to enjoy next week before the term comes to a close.

Thank you to all our riders, families, volunteers, coaches, and horses for another wonderful term. We look forward to seeing everyone back for Term 3! 💚🐴

This morning our President Cheryl, Vice President Chrissy, and Assistant Secretary Maria attended the Wide Bay Rodders event at Gatakers Bay, Point Vernon, where we were incredibly grateful to be presented with a $6,000 donation cheque from the Wide Bay Rodders Custome Car Club.

As many of our followers know, the past 18 months have been a very challenging time for our centre. With new horses and a float high on our wish list, this generous donation will make a huge difference and help us continue providing opportunities for our riders and participants.

A huge thank you to the Wide Bay Rodders and to everyone who attended the May in the Bay Car Show. The support generated through community events like this has a real impact on local groups like ours, and we are so appreciative of your kindness and generosity.

Thank you for supporting RDA Hervey Bay 💜❤️

We unfortunately need to cancel Saturday lessons for tomorrow. Our grounds are very wet from all the rain we have had and Coach Emma is unwell. We look forward to seeing everyone next time.
