We aim to offer a platform that can help with personal and professional growth. We offer a range of activities for students to expand extracurricular interests, develop social skills and increase academic interactions. Chinese hopping zombies have invaded Darwin this Halloween! 😱 But they're not here to haunt you... they need YOUR help!

A mysterious portal has opened, bringing a group of adorable Chinese hopping zombies, known as Jiangshi (僵尸), all the way to the Top End!

Don't worry, these little fellas from Chinese folklore are actually pretty harmless!
They're just a little lost, struggling with the Aussie heat and running low on spirit energy!

To survive, they must collect magical spirit flames scattered throughout the night. 🔥

Ancient Taoist talismans (符咒) have also slipped through the portal! In Chinese folklore, these powerful charms can stop a Jiangshi in its tracks.

🌕 CDU CSSA wishes everyone a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 🥮❤️

The Mid-Autumn Festival is about more than admiring the moon and enjoying mooncakes.

For those of us living far from home, it carries a deeper meaning — missing home.

As international students, we have crossed oceans to Australia to pursue our dreams.

Along the way, we have learned to be independent and gradually grown used to missing family dinners, familiar voices, and those moments together that we once took for granted.

As we grow older, we realise that reunion does not always mean being home.

It can be a phone call across time zones, a simple “How have you been?”, or knowing that no matter how far you go, there will always be someone back home thinking of you.

🌕 The moon rises over the sea, and from far apart we share this moment together.

This Mid-Autumn Festival, remember to give your family a call.

To everyone pursuing their dreams far from home, may you always have someone who cares, somewhere to call home, peace for those you miss, and a reunion to look forward to. ❤️

🥮 CDU CSSA 2026 Mid-Autumn Mooncake Sharing Recap

Sometimes, a mooncake can be a small gesture with a lot of heart.

This Mid-Autumn Festival, CDU CSSA visited both Danala and Casuarina campuses to share mooncakes with our student community.

Some stopped by on their way to class. Some came after class. Others simply picked up a mooncake with a smile and said, “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival”

It was a simple event, but these little moments made all the preparation worthwhile.

Student life can get busy, and we hope that small gestures like this can bring a little festive spirit, happiness and warmth to an ordinary day.

A big thank you to every committee member and volunteer who helped with the preparation and on the day, and to everyone who stopped by.

The mooncakes are all gone, but we hope this small gesture reached you with a little warmth. 💛

一块月饼，也可以是一份小小的心意。

今年中秋，CDU中国学联来到 Danala 和 Casuarina 两个校区，把准备好的月饼一份份送到大家手上。

有人赶着上课，顺路拿上一块。有人下课后来到现场。也有人接过月饼，笑着说一句：“中秋快乐”

活动很简单，却正是这些小小的瞬间，让所有准备都有了意义。

学生生活总是忙忙碌碌，我们希望偶尔可以用一些简单的小事，为普通的一天增加一点节日的感觉，也带来一点快乐和温度。

特别感谢参与准备和现场帮忙的每一位委员及志愿者，也谢谢每一位来到现场的同学。

月饼派完了，但这份小小的心意，希望有好好送到大家手中。💛

🎉 CDU CSSA Ice-Breaking Games & Welcome Dinner 2026 Recap 💛

Some of us have just arrived in Darwin. Some are already preparing to graduate. We may be at different stages of our journeys, but that evening, our paths crossed.

We hope this event gave everyone a place to meet new friends and find support while living far from home. Someone you met that night may become a friend for your time in Darwin — or even a lifelong friend. 🤝

The event may end, but we hope the friendships will not. We treasure every smile, every conversation and every moment we shared together.

Behind a big event like this is a lot of preparation, and making it happen is never easy. A heartfelt thank you to every committee member and volunteer who gave their time and came together with genuine kindness to welcome others, build an inclusive community and make everyone feel they belong. 💛

No matter when we arrived or when we leave, the friendships and memories we create here can stay with us long after our Darwin journey ends.

🎬 CDU CSSA Movie Event Recap – A Love Letter to Grandma 💛

A heartfelt thank you to the 140+ students and friends who joined us for the screening of A Love Letter to Grandma.

This wasn't just a movie. It was a powerful story about migration, separation, promises, and the lifelong hope of returning home.

Through generations of a family divided by war, distance, and misunderstanding, the film reminds us of the sacrifices made by those who left home in search of a better future. Although the story took place decades ago, its message still resonates deeply today.

As international students, many of us have also left our families to pursue our dreams in Australia. Whether we return home one day or build a new life here, we all understand what it means to miss birthdays, family gatherings, and the everyday moments we once took for granted.

This film reminded us to treasure every phone call home, every message from our loved ones, and every opportunity to tell them how much they mean to us. Because no matter where life takes us, our roots and the people we love will always be part of who we are.

A special thank you to our incredible CDU CSSA committee members and volunteers for making this meaningful afternoon possible.

💛 Sometimes, home is not the place we return to, but the love and memories we carry with us wherever we go.

🎬 CDU中国学联观影活动回顾 💛

感谢 140+ 位同学和朋友一起参加了《给阿嬷的情书》观影活动。

这不仅仅是一部电影，更是一段关于离乡、承诺、思念与回家的故事。

电影以侨批为线索，讲述了一个因战乱与时代浪潮分隔重洋的家庭，藏着一场跨越半生的温柔误会，也照见了无数下南洋华人为家人默默坚守的担当。故事虽远去数十年，其中传递的情感，至今依旧令人动容。

作为国际学生，我们同样辞别家乡，来到澳洲追逐梦想。也许只是停留数载，也许未来会扎根于此，这一路上，我们会错过家人的生日、团聚的节日和很多重要时刻，可我们心底那份对家的牵挂，从未改变。

这部电影提醒着我们，珍惜每一次和家人的通话、每一条来自父母和长辈的讯息，也珍惜那些默默支持我们一路走来的家人。无论未来走到哪里，我们的根，永远都在那里。
