Looks like AgFest 2026 in Tasmania was a hoot!! Can't wait to see you all again next year!

Day 1 - 07/05/26 - What a day at AGFEST 2026, the sun shone bright but the wind had other plans, brrr! The rain kindly waited till the end to join the party. We crushed it at the Peter Brock 4WD Memorial Track and George brought the house down with his debut performance!

Day 2 - 08/05/26 AGFEST 2026 and what an awesome day, not just the perfect weather but massive crowds visited the Peter Brock 4WD Memorial Track, we helped the Army get its 4WD out of the mud pit, and George the monkey stole the show again!

Day 3 - 09/05/26 - Last day of the utterly insane 2026 AGFEST, record crowds went wild with fantastic volunteers showing off their awesome 4wd skills and George the monkey was having a field day, not just driving his jeep but also bumming a ride in the Subaru brumby ute after a chilly morning.

Three days of non-stop action and huge thanks to all the volunteers from Land Rover Owner's Club Tasmania (LROCT), NO LIMITS 4WD CLUB, Braddon 4wd Club, Trekka 4WD Club, Devonport 4WD Club, Northern Explorers 4wd club & Independent 4x4 club who made it all happen.

A huge shout out to the members of the Outback 4WD Club who were involved earlier this year assisting the ABC with filming for Back Roads along sections of the Binns Track here in Central Australia.

It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase not only the incredible landscapes of the outback, but also the spirit of our club, our passion for touring, and the amazing destinations right on our doorstep. Well done to everyone involved in making the trip such a success.

You can catch the adventure now on ABC iview — Season 12, Episodes 9 and 10 of Back Roads.

Are EV’s really an alternative for rural/remote motoring??

Have you ever filled up your car sooner than expected, or watched the battery range drop faster than promised?

There's now a way to see which cars perform as promised.

The AAA’s Real-World Testing Program independently tests new cars on Australian roads and compares the results to the car brands’ lab tests, which are published on the windscreen sticker.

Since 2023, testing of 154 petrol, diesel and hybrids has found 77% used more fuel than advertised. The biggest gap so far? The Mazda 2 at 35% more than the sticker.

If you've been considering an electric vehicle (EV) and are worrying about running out of charge, knowing what the real-world range is can change that. All 15 EVs tested so far failed to match their official claimed driving range, but some came close.

In the latest results:

If you bought a GWM Haval Jolion Hybrid small SUV, it would use
27% more fuel than the sticker.

If you bought a BYD Dolphin expecting 410km of range, you're getting closer to 313km.

The Kia EV 5 is one of the few EVs that delivers the battery range within 3% of the sticker.

Real-World Testing also reveals whether the Government's efforts to reduce vehicle emissions and running costs are really being realised on Australian roads.

Clear, independent numbers help Australians choose cars that are cleaner to breathe around and cheaper to run - not just on paper, but out on the Hume, Great Ocean Road and everywhere in between.

So, if you’re about to make one of the biggest purchases of your life, you deserve the full picture.

Have you ever filled up your car sooner than expected, or watched the battery range drop faster than promised?

Four Wheel Drive Victoria have been out and about helping communities across Victoria since the fires that set alight over half the state in mid January. Many many trees that have come down along fence lines, driveways and even sheds have been cleaned up to help people who may be under insured or have lost all their tools in the fires. As well as a few sheds completely dismantled, plenty of burnt fences and wire were removed. And don't forget about all the burnt item that club members have also helped home owners move where needed to organise! With now over 1200 volunteer hours logged in these efforts, it is a mammoth job that goes a long way to helping those affected get back on their feet. One certainly worth celebrating.

The work however, is not done and is far from over. Whilst we have been very active in the Fawcett area since early Feb and many other clubs helping at various sites across the state, there is much more work to be done. We will be out around Fawcett until the day the community tell FWDV they are not longer needed to assist and this will be the same as we expand to help other areas such as down at the flood and fire affected Otways.

If you are wanting to help out please contact the Four Wheel Drive Victoria office or if you want to donate to any of the fire affected areas either get in contact with them or check out the below links.

Maybe the government should be fixing the condition of our roads instead of lowering speed limits?
