👏 Huge congratulations to JMF Scholarship holder Kobe Seymour (Wiradjuri), who took home Youth Sportsperson of the Year at last week's Dubbo NAIDOC Community Ball! 🏆✨

This well deserved achievement honour's Kobe's determination to lift up his peers and reach his potential on and off the pitch.

Kobe's hard work has led to a swag of achievements in 2026:
⚽ Selected for the inaugural JMF National Talent Showcase alongside 26 of the country's most talented young Indigenous players.
⚽ Selected for the Charles Perkins XI at the CommBank Emerging Socceroos Championships, proudly representing his Wiradjuri heritage.
⚽ Awarded MVP of the SERISER Cup and named the standout player in the Bill Turner Cup
⚽ Awarded a 2027 retention offer from Central West Football Club for his commitment and positive attitude.

⚽🎨 Check out these fresh football boots - transformed into works of art!

Great work from the talented young people at Orana Youth Justice Centre in Dubbo who spent some time during their weekly John Moriarty Football sessions hand-painting these football boots.

These boots will be sent to JMF players in Tennant Creek and Borroloola as part of a brand new initiative - JMF The Big Game! JMF brings weekly matches to these remote communities where football competitions do not exist. JMF players will get the opportunity to put their football skills in action and build confidence playing in a team. It will also bring families and communities together to celebrate the children and their achievements.

A shout out to Jasper Jones and his family for organising the generous donation of the boots. Jasper is a talented young Kamilaroi footballer who showcased his skills at the 2026 JMF National Talent Showcase.

Congratulations to JMF's community coaches on JMF being named a finalist for National Community Sporting Organisation of the Year at the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sports Awards! 🎉🎉

JMF is a community-led initiative using the power of sport to support education, connection, health and wellbeing. Woven deeply into the social fabric of 16 remote communities in NT, NSW and QLD, JMF delivers free culturally-supportive sessions across 14 public schools - providing gender-inclusive safe spaces for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to connect, build resilience and be mentored by our 74% Indigenous coaching team - trusted community leaders and role models.

JMF is backed by Deloitte Access Economics research which found, 72% of students are excited to attend school when JMF sessions are offered, contributing to some students attending 1-2 more days of school a week - supporting children to reach their potential and thrive.

This nomination recognises the hard work of the incredible JMF coaches who are supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to be strong in education, culture and wellbeing.

Big shoutout to Jasper, Beckham and Chantelle Jones (Chantelle Jones ) from Wollongong for arranging a generous donation of football gear for the young players in JMF's remote and regional community hubs. The donation included boots, balls & equipment (donated by Deploy Football Caringbah) and custom shin pads (designed by Dean Bartle of munk_fc). ⚽👟

Just like our co-founder John Moriarty, the first Aboriginal footballer to be selected to play for Australia, sometimes all it takes to spark a love of football is a pair of boots.

Jasper hit the pitch back in May at the JMF National Talent Showcase—a national-first event where talented Indigenous footballers had the opportunity to shine in front of the professional football community.
