So They Can

So They Can Empowering communities through education so they can break the poverty cycle. This in turn grows the economy and breaks the cycle of poverty.

We focus our efforts and funds on providing quality education to children and adults, specifically women, to increase the number of students who graduate from high school and can seek further education or employment. We are committed to supporting economic development in these communities by identifying social business opportunities, ensuring the sustainability of our education strategies. These b

usinesses have a dual purpose. They benefit the community by creating jobs and they generate funds to help support our education projects.

🎬 LIVE FROM KENYA 🇰🇪

On Wednesday, our and supporters from around the world joined us virtually at Kibowen Komen Primary School in Kenya to experience the impact of education in action.

Together, we heard from local leaders, met inspiring students, and saw the remarkable progress achieved since our partnership began in 2019.

Through our sustainable development model, we're working alongside communities, schools, governments and parents to create lasting change — building stronger schools, empowering communities, and helping more children access the quality education they deserve.

Here's what some of our guests had to say:

⭐️ So special to have this opportunity to zoom in from all around the world and see the impact of So They Can live.

⭐️ Thank you so much for sharing your school with us. The children look like they are thriving and learning really important skills. I am looking forward to hearing about the next school and that it will be as successful as this school!

⭐️ The team have done a wonderful job of pulling this together! What a production to be beamed into our homes from the other side of the world!

💐 Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible mothers everywhere — and especially to our courageous Champion Mothers working with So They Can in Kenya and Tanzania 🌍

Champion Mothers are local volunteer advocates trained to support the children in the communities we partner with, ensuring they can continue to attend school safely.

💪 Our Champions challenge harmful cultural norms such as female ge***al cutting and child marriage, while providing a safe, confidential point of contact for children in desperate situations. They are powerful leaders for child rights within their communities.

This Mother’s Day, we want to share Jeska’s story — a Champion Mother in rural Tanzania whose bravery helped rescue a 14-year-old girl from child marriage.

💔 When the young girl discovered her father had accepted a dowry for her marriage, she ran to Jeska for help. Jeska immediately mobilised village leaders and intervened to stop the marriage, protecting the girl’s right to continue her education and pursue her dreams.

❤️ People like Jeska remind us that motherhood is not only about raising children — it is also about standing up for them, protecting their futures, and creating safer communities for the next generation.

Happy Mother’s Day 💐

👋🏾 Meet Moureen, one of So They Can’s Msomi Scholars and an inspiring role model for our Ambassadors of Hope initiative.

Through Ambassadors of Hope, girls are supported to stay in school, pursue their ambitions, and break free from deeply rooted barriers including female ge***al cutting (FGC) and child marriage.

Moureen’s journey — from almost being denied an education and facing the reality of child marriage, to becoming a final-year university student — shows what becomes possible when girls are given the opportunity to learn, lead, and dream beyond the limits placed on them.

❤️ Share this post to stand with girls like Moureen and help create a future where every girl has the chance to choose her own path.
