Australian Children's Music Foundation - ACMF Founded in 2002 by Play School's Don Spencer OAM, the ACMF provides free music education and instruments to children who would otherwise miss out.

The Australian Children’s Music Foundation provides free, long term music programs and instruments to disadvantaged and Indigenous children across Australia, inspiring creativity and imagination while nurturing self-esteem and confidence.

Take a minute to watch this excerpt from the incredibly moving piece by the team at A Current Affair and Deborah Knight, shining a light on the recently completed immersive song writing workshop at Cobham Youth Justice Centre in NSW.

🔹This exciting project is an extension of the ACMF’s 25-year history of providing long-term music education programs in Youth Justice Centres across Australia.

🔹A special thank you to Australian music artists DOBBY and Kobie Dee for bringing their expertise and passionate belief in the life-changing power of music to these workshops, and to the incredible Elle and Murray for the great work they did with these young people throughout.

📢We are thrilled to announce renewed support from The Sebastian Foundation to deliver long-term music education and mental health support to children in the remote Tiwi Islands.

✈️This funding will sustain ACMF’s existing music program at Pularumpi School on Melville Island and enable its expansion into neighbouring Milikapiti School through our Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) remote teaching model.

🧘‍♂️The Sebastian Foundation has also generously donated the Open Parachute program, an in-school mental health program aimed at Kindergarten to Year 12, to be implemented at both schools.

🤝Together, we are looking forward to supporting emotional resilience, wellbeing, school attendance, and learning outcomes across the island.
