Thank you to the 76 volunteers who made Electrify Your Life! 2026 a huge success! Every one of the 2,500+ people who came through the doors in Hawthorn last Sunday was greeted, guided, or helped by someone giving up their weekend to be there.

Some of our volunteers have already started electrifying in their own homes. They’ve installed a heat pump, switched to induction cooking, or driven an EV for a few years now, and they were excited to chat about it! At the Ask Me Anything Hub, they shared what that was actually like, the good bits and the tricky bits, with neighbours who are just starting out.

Behind the scenes, others have worked on planning all areas of the Expo for the past several months. On the day before and day of, we had an amazing team there to help set up from early morning, run the registration desk and pack down at the end of a long day.

Electrify Boroondara is community & volunteer-led from top to bottom, and this was our biggest Expo yet. We couldn’t have done it without every one of you.

Thank you to the 12 people who joined us on stage for our three conversation panels at Electrify Your Life! 2026 on Sunday.

🏉 Community, Sport and Climate: Protecting the life we love
Extreme heat, changing seasons and damaged facilities are already disrupting the sport our community loves. Former AFL player Tom Campbell, AFLW player Nicola Barr, Olympic cyclist Grace Brown OAM and Alexi Lynch from Footy for Climate talked about what that looks like on the ground, and how clubs and communities are taking action.

🏠 Electrifying Your Home: Taking the next step
Tom Langstaff (CitiPower), Brendan Lang (Get Off Gas) and Ann Liao (Asians for Climate Solutions) shared practical advice for every kind of home, from apartments and rentals to standalone houses. Sarah Aubrey from Electrify This moderated.

🤝 No need to go it alone: Advice, incentives and practical support
Amaya DeSilva (City of Boroondara), Stan Krpan (Solar Victoria) and David Henderson (SEC Victoria) walked through the rebates, programs and support available to local households. Our Chair, Susan Biggar, facilitated.

The message that kept coming through all the panels was that wherever you’re starting from, whether you rent, live in an apartment, or are already halfway through your own switch, there’s practical help available and you don’t have to work it out alone.

We are so grateful to all the panelists for being part of Electrify Your Life Expo, and helping raise awareness about all the benefits of switching to electric and renewable energy.

More than 2,500 people came through the doors to Electrify Your Life 2026, our biggest Expo yet and our fourth in a row!

Here’s what the day looked like:

⚡ 18 speakers across 3 conversation panels and 3 information sessions
⚡ More than 40 commercial and not-for-profit exhibitors giving expert advice and live product demos
⚡ Plenty of electric vehicles to explore, plus e-bikes in action and induction cooktops cooking yummy meals
⚡ Dozens of experts and locals at our Ask Me Anything Hub, a good starting point whether you’re renting, tackling low-cost upgrades, or planning a fully electric home
⚡ Kids using pedal power to whip up fairy floss, building their own electric city, and colouring tote bags to take home

We’re thrilled that attendance grew again this year! To us, that’s a clear sign that more people in Boroondara and across Melbourne want practical ways to cut their energy bills, make their homes more comfortable, and lower our community’s emissions.

A massive thank you to our speakers, sponsors, every exhibitor, and our volunteers who set up early and helped visitors throughout the day.

Electrify Your Life Expo was proudly presented by Electrify Boroondara and City of Boroondara. Thank you to our event partner City of Boroondara and all council staff who worked with us to offer such an amazing event supporting a clean energy future!

Watch this space for more photos and videos coming over the next few weeks!

Have you been thinking about getting an EV but aren't sure what life would actually look like? 🔌🚗

Charging - where, how, and what it really costs. Prices, and whether they stack up against what you're driving now. Which brand and model actually suits your life. Whether you can still do the long trip without any stress. It's a big decision, and it's completely normal to have a lot of questions.

That's exactly what the Electrify Your Life Expo is for! We'll have local dealers on hand to talk you through specific models, and just as importantly, our own volunteers who drive EVs every day and can tell you what it's actually like day to day.

With EVs already making up close to a quarter of new car sales here in Australia, there's never been a better time to get your questions answered.
