There are only a few hours left to help protect a child in South Sudan.

In the remote communities of Rumbek, distance, food insecurity, and limited access to medical services can mean children miss out on essential healthcare during the most critical years of their lives.

Through Mary Ward International’s partnership with Loreto Rumbek, healthcare workers travel directly to remote villages to deliver life-saving vaccinations, monitor children’s health, provide nutrition support, and give mothers practical advice to help their children thrive.

While vaccines are provided by the World Health Organization, trained healthcare workers are still needed to reach these communities and deliver them.

Just $20 can help deliver an essential, life-saving vaccination to one child.

At Sancta Maria College of Nursing and Midwifery in Lukulu, Zambia, students are preparing to serve the healthcare needs of their own communities.

In 2025, the College completed a new kitchen and dining hall, allowing nourishing meals to be served to 300 students each day.

A solar-powered pump and drip irrigation system also transformed the College farm, improving food security and supporting more sustainable crop production.

These upgrades strengthen the learning environment for students and help build a skilled local health workforce for Western Zambia.

In Lukulu, Zambia, the Baby Milk Program provides essential nutrition to orphaned and at-risk infants during critical stages of early development.

In 2025, 49 vulnerable infants received life-sustaining formula tailored to their health, growth, and family circumstances.

Through regular monitoring and caregiver support, families reported improvements in infant strength, feeding routines, and overall health.

This early support is a lifeline for children and caregivers, helping give infants a safer, healthier start to life.
