A gift of $250 will provide nine months of seasonal education for one child in India’s brickfields.

For children whose schooling is disrupted by migration and hardship, this support can mean the difference between falling behind and continuing to learn.

This End of Financial Year, your gift can help keep education within reach.

On the outskirts of Kolkata, families live surrounded by heat, dust, and smoke. Many migrate to the brickfields for work, living in temporary shelters and facing the same cycle of labour year after year.

For children, schooling is often interrupted or out of reach.

The Brickfield Schools Program is helping to change this by providing flexible, open-air classrooms where children can continue learning despite the uncertainty around them.

This EOFY, help children in the brickfields stay in school.

For many children living in Kolkata’s brickfields, education is often disrupted by migration, hardship, and the daily demands of survival.

Through the Brickfield Schools Program, children are given a place to learn, grow, and stay connected to education, even as their families move for seasonal work.

This End of Financial Year, your support can help more children like Ananya continue their education and build futures beyond the brickfields.

For most of her childhood, Ananya’s life was shaped by upheaval. Each year, her family travelled to India’s brickfields in search of work, and each year her schooling was interrupted.

Everything changed when she discovered the Brickfield Schools Program.

In an open-air classroom beside the kilns, Ananya found a place to learn. With support from her teachers, she transitioned into mainstream government schooling and is now on track to become the first in her family to complete a full school education.

This EOFY, help more children in the brickfields stay in school.

Education is strongest when it is grounded in culture, identity, and community.

Through our partnership with the Loreto Sisters and the Aurora Education Foundation, Mary Ward International is supporting First Nations students to access culturally grounded education pathways that honour who they are and where they come from.

The Indigenous Education Scholarship Fund will support students through school and beyond, helping build confidence, strengthen connection to culture, and open pathways to further study and employment.

This work reminds us that education is not an act of charity. It is justice in action.

In Darjeeling’s tea estates, young women like Jasmine are beginning to imagine futures beyond the paths once expected of them.

Through the Collective Voices Project’s Career Guidance Program, students are receiving mentoring, practical advice, and support to explore higher education and meaningful career pathways.

For Jasmine, that guidance helped turn uncertainty into direction. She is now pursuing her goal of studying political science and contributing to her community in the future.

Education opens doors. With the right support, young women can shape their own futures with confidence.
