This World Cerebral Palsy Day, we recognise the assumptions people living with cerebral palsy (CP) experience.

Those assumptions don’t just stay in conversations, but they follow people into hiring decisions and into jobs that don’t fit, aren’t fair, and don’t go anywhere.

An inclusive employment pathway should be built around:
- A person’s strengths
- Communication needs
- Interests and passions

If you want to talk about these and build an inclusive employment pathway, send us an email at @inclusion.melbourne

Census Day is Tuesday 11 August 2026

A quick reminder that Australia’s 2026 Census is coming up!

We know forms and online information can sometimes feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to work through it alone.

If you need support to understand or complete your Census, a Direct Support Professional can assist you through the process. If you already have a support worker, you can also ask them to support you in a way that works for you.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics has also created Easy Read information and other accessible resources, including Auslan guides, large print and other support options. See here: https://info.census.abs.gov.au/help/resources

Need a Direct Support Professional to support you? Reach out to us on [email protected] or 0413 681 379 and we can talk with you about organising support.

Census day is Tuesday 11 August 2026, and everyone in Australia that night needs to be included on a Census form: https://form.census.abs.gov.au/

20+ Years of Making a Difference!

Huge congratulations to the incredible volunteer work of Rosita Fernandes who was awarded a 20 years of service award at the Boroondara Volunteer Awards 2026.

For over two decades, Rosita has been an essential part of the community as a dedicated Leisure Buddy. That is 20+ years of bringing joy, sharing hobbies, fostering independence, and creating deeply meaningful friendships that have transformed lives.

Being a Leisure Buddy isn't just about giving up your time—it’s about consistency, connection, and ensuring everyone in our community feels included, valued, and seen. We would like to congratulate Rosita on her many years of creating these meaningful connections.🌟 💛
