Congratulations to Branimir Sprajcer for winning the Senior Volunteer award at today’s Governors Multicultural Awards. Branimir has been instrumental or taken part in many programmes throughout the years including the formation of the Croatian Community Council South Australia, the Croatian Business Directory, finding players from SA for the Croatian World Games, the Croatian History Group SA, creating and maintaining the South Australian Croatian History archives, and countless other initiatives.

Last Friday the Croatian Community Council of South Australia and the Croatian Club Adelaide were honoured to host Ivana Hebrang Grgić and Grgic. Ivana Hebrang Grgić is an associate professor at the Department of Information and Communication Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb — specialising in publishing history, scientific communication, and the Croatian emigrant press. Her visit to Australia is for her academic research into the Croatian immigrant press — publications (books, newspapers, magazines) produced by Croatians living in Australia and New Zealand. During her visit she gathered information, primary sources, and historical material to develop a detailed bibliographic database documenting Croatian-language publications and publishing activity among Croatian communities in Australia and New Zealand as part of her project Croatian Emigrant Press. Ivana Hebrang Grgić was accompanied by her husband Goran Grgic who appears in the new feature film Svadba directed by Igor Šeregija and showing currently at Hoyts Norwood and Tea Tree Plaza.
