Comitato Assistenza Agli Italiani - CO.AS.IT. is a Leading Body for organisations supporting older Italian Australians in South Australia. is a collaborative initiative of the South Australian Italian community to support existing programs and respond to the growing demand for services. does not deliver direct client services, it strives to play a key leadership and lobbying role in advancing serv

ices for the Italian community in South Australia. Organisations which formed part of the development of CO.AS.IT. include; CIC—Coordinating Italian Committee, APAIA—Association of Pensioners and Older People in SA, ANFE—Association of Emigrants and their Families, Saint Hilarion Aged Care, Bene Aged Care, PISA—Italian Meals and Services for the Elderly and NIC—Northern Italian Community. Our strategic goals include;
1) Support to agencies that support older Italian Australians.
2) Community Engagement
3) Community Representation

CO.AS.IT. (SA) was honoured to partner with Volunterring SA &NT and Nonna's Cucina - Made with Love, Shared With Joy to launch the importance of volunteering in the Aged Care Sector to support CALD communities.

We were joined by Hamilton Calder CEO of SA & NT, Minister Nat Cook, Ernest Pianelli, Consul of Italy, Dario Fabretto, Marco Saltari, Melody Hill Hon Jing Lee MLC and Rosa Matto (MC).

The launch of this film highlights CO.AS.IT. (SA) volunteer award recipient Lou who has dedicated many years of volunteering at Nonna’Cucina. This initiative would not have been possible without the funding from the Commonwealth Home Support Programme and particularly from the Sector Support and Development funding. This collaboration also produced a number of resources available to Providers and Organisations supporting volunteers in the Aged Care Sector to strengthen a much needed diverse volunteer workforce.
