Today is the International Day of Charity, marked by the UN on the anniversary of Mother Teresa’s passing to honour the act of showing up for one another.

Showing up is what The Village Co is built on. When a new mother is doing it tough, she doesn’t need pity. She needs a village. A Welcome Babe Care Pack is where it starts. It reminds her she isn’t alone, that support is there, and that she is worthy of care.

To every incredible creator who showed up, thank you.
Last week our warehouse filled with people who gave something money can’t buy: their time, their voice, and their belief in what we’re building. They came to help us launch HUG, and left having told thousands of people about the mothers at the heart of everything we do.
Watching our community rally like this is a reminder of what a village really looks like. When people lift together, mothers who are doing it tough get to feel a little less alone.
Every HUG purchased helps fund the practical care and connection that reaches a vulnerable mother right when she needs it most. That’s the whole idea: give a hug to fund a hug.

The brilliant Perks team joined us back in our warehouse! It’s always a pleasure having them around for another packing session, and every bag they help pack means one more mum out there feeling a little less alone. Thanks for all your help, Perks team ☺️

We were so glad to welcome Minister Alice Rolls MP, Minister Katrine Hildyard and Jayne Stinson MP MP to see our work up close, from packing Welcome Babe Bags to hearing about our Pop-Up program for families who need a little extra support.

Moments like this matter. Every visit is a chance to show what’s possible when government, community, and generous South Australians work together for mothers and babies who need a village behind them.

Thank you, Minister Rolls, Minister Hildyard, and Jayne, for taking the time to see it in person. We’re grateful for your support of vulnerable mothers across South Australia.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall at the Davoren Park Expo last week.
It was lovely to meet so many families, hear your stories and share what The Village Co is all about.
We left the day with a lot to think about, and a reminder of just how important it is that every mum knows where she can turn for support.
