- did you know that there are two excellent choirs representing Adelaide at the National ChoralFest this year in Geelong?

Aurora Vocal Ensemble opened the first concert last night and features as a headline choir throughout the festival. We are so blessed to have these incredible singers in our own back yard!

The Adelaide Choral Ambassadors have arrived in Victoria for ChoralFest 2026, the Australian National Choral Association's national festival of choral music. We have three performances across two days — and we'd love to see you there. 😊

Tonight — Thursday 9 April

Tomorrow — Friday 10 April

🎵 ANCA presents: A Vocal Jazz Experience with Matt Falker!
Choir directors, singers, and music educators — this one's for you. Join us for a free, one-evening professional learning experience with internationally acclaimed clinician Matt Falker (California, USA), who returns to Australia in 2026 as a Generations in Jazz adjudicator.

The evening runs across two venues and you're welcome to attend one or both:

Session 1 — Brighton Secondary School 305 Brighton Road, North Brighton (car park off King George Ave) 🕔 5:00–7:30pm Observe Matt in action with St Peter's Girls' Jazz Choirs, then join a participatory vocal jazz repertoire session yourself.

Session 2 — Cynthia Poulton Hall, St Peter's Cathedral 27 King William Road, North Adelaide 🕗 8:15–9:30pm Observe Matt run a vocal jazz workshop with the Festival Statesmen Chorus. (If you can't make session one, you are welcome to attend a rehearsal of the Festival Statesmen Chorus directed by Jonathan Bligh from 7pm).

State Opera South Australia is launching OUR OPERA, OUR STORY, a bold new project turning South Australian stories into four brand-new micro-operas, premiering in 2027

From the extraordinary to the everyday, we’re inviting people from all walks of life to share stories that are unmistakably South Australian.

🎼 A panel will select the final stories to become original micro-operas created by leading Australian composers and librettists for the 2027 State Opera season.
