Introducing Holiday Bands at The Brocas this school holidays.

Holiday Bands is a four-day music intensive for 13 to 17 year olds. Join a band on Monday and perform a gig on Thursday night.

This program connects young people with the creative community and offers hands-on skill development in an exciting, all-ages environment.

If you love making and playing music, this intensive is the perfect way to meet like-minded teens, form a band, and play live on stage at The Gov.

Wear It Purple® Day is this Friday! A day dedicated to showing support for LGBTQIA+ young people.

Why is this day needed?
💜 Well, according to thousands of q***r youth, over 55% of them will have experienced discrimination, just for being themselves.
💜 But, despite challenges, q***r youth still find moments of pride. 73% of them told us they've felt pride and euphoria in being LGBTQIA+.

By wearing purple this Friday you can help show q***r youth that they are supported to be proud of who they are.

We cannot wait to see all the purple that’ll be worn to show support for LGBTQIA+ young people. 🌈

🍓 Bring the kids along for a fun and free morning tea, craft activities and stories to celebrate 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 at Civic (Woodville) Library. 🎨

Aboriginal artist Scott Rathman from Rusted Tin will lead a special art activity inspired by First Nations culture and storytelling.

There will also be a live national celebration from the Sydney Opera House featuring stories, song, dance and language from First Nations communities across Australia.

UN Youth Australia is recruiting the next Australian Youth Representative to the UN – leading the country's largest face-to-face consultation with young people, then taking what they hear to the UN General Assembly.

It's a big platform, and a direct line into how Australia shows up for young people internationally.
