🎬 Latin American Film Festival 2026 – Adelaide Opening ✨

We were delighted to celebrate the opening of the Latin American Film Festival in Adelaide, bringing our community together through Latin American cinema, culture and storytelling.

It was a great honour to welcome the Ambassador of Peru to Australia, who joined us for this special occasion and the screening of the Peruvian film Un mundo para Julius.

LASSA is proud to support this celebration of Latin American stories, cultures and creativity in South Australia.

The festival runs from 2–19 September, featuring films from across Latin America and all screenings are FREE! 🎟️

LASSA would like to thank The Hon. Nadia Clancy MP, Minister for Small and Family Business and Minister for Multicultural Affairs, for meeting with us and giving us the opportunity to present our organisation, our programs, and the work we do with the Latin American community.

The meeting was also an important opportunity to discuss the needs, priorities and challenges experienced by Latin American communities in South Australia, and to share the perspectives and experiences of our growing community.

LASSA remains committed to working collaboratively with government, community organisations and other stakeholders to strengthen support, participation and opportunities for the Latin American community in South Australia.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the recent earthquake in Colombia, and especially with those facing uncertainty about the wellbeing of family, friends and loved ones.

We know that events like this are also deeply felt here in South Australia, particularly by members of our Colombian community with strong connections to home.

In moments like these, staying connected as a community matters. LASSA is available to help community members access information and connect with relevant support services if needed.
