🌏 From Settlement to Inclusion – Skills, Confidence and Pathways to Employment

As part of SA Refugee Week 2026 and this year's theme, A Million Stories, LASSA and TimeMakers Consulting brought community members together to explore employment pathways and workforce participation in Australia.

Through open conversations and shared experiences, participants reflected on their migration journeys, employment challenges, and opportunities. The session highlighted the importance of connection, shared knowledge, and social cohesion in supporting successful settlement outcomes.

Our recent Community Walk at Hope Valley Reservoir brought Latin American men together to enjoy nature, stay active, and strengthen the connections that help create healthier communities where people feel connected, supported, and valued.

As part of the Taking Care of Me project, led by MCCSA in partnership with Preventive Health SA and The Hospital Research Foundation Group, these activities create opportunities for men to connect, build friendships, and support their health and wellbeing.

Thank you to everyone who joined this meaningful session organised by Australian Red Cross and LASSA

This event created a safe and welcoming space for the Latin American community in Adelaide to openly talk about emotional wellbeing and mental health, share experiences, and strengthen community connections.

By encouraging open conversations and community support, we continue promoting awareness, wellbeing, and resilience within our community.

LASSA had the pleasure of being part of a beautiful Mother’s Day celebration alongside our community. 💐

It was a heartfelt afternoon filled with joy, laughter, connection, and special moments as we celebrated the incredible mothers who give so much love and strength every day.

This meaningful event was made possible thanks to Venezuelan Community of South Australia (VENCSA) OFFICIAL, with the valued participation and collaboration of Australian Migrant Resource Centre and STTARS.
