Thanks to the generosity of a local Adelaide family, much-needed toilet and bathroom facilities are taking shape at Gulu Christian Comprehensive School in Uganda.

These new and upgraded facilities will make a significant difference for the South Sudanese refugee students supported by Bright Futures, as well as their fellow classmates. Access to safe, clean sanitation is essential for students' health, wellbeing and ability to learn, yet it is something many schools continue to lack.

Projects like this help create a more dignified and supportive learning environment, giving young people the opportunity to focus on their education and build brighter futures.

The World Health Organisation has declared the Ebola outbreak in Uganda a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. This situation is critical for our partners at Lukodi Health Clinic, who have been put on high alert for signs and symptoms, requiring contactless thermometers, and personal protection equipment for employees. Together, we are praying for and committed to supporting these communities through this challenging time.
