The Maharishi Invincibility Institute (MII) is a private accredited and registered non-profit South African skills-to-work educational institution. Since its inception in 2007, It has launched careers in finance, banking, advertising, technology, management consulting and more for over 19 000 South Africans. It uses the Transcendental Meditation technique and a daily yoga practice to integrate the brain, harness creativity and unlock full human potential.

On Monday members of the UJW Executive Committee were given an excellent 3-hour introduction to its various facilities. We experienced feelings of awe and astonishment when we entered and were shown around the various buildings that house the students.

We met young, articulate, self-confident and proud South Africans who are either high-school students, college students, students undergoing intensive training in the security sector, students learning self-defence through ju-jitsu classes, students playing basketball and rugby, students training in culinary skills, students doing gym, or students having a break, eating the delicious vegetarian meals that are cooked for them every day.

For us, the UJW Johannesburg, this morning was one that gave us so much hope for the future of thousands of young South Africans eager to take and secure their places in the tomorrow of the country.
