🥊 From dreams to champions.

Sometimes, all a young person needs is someone to believe in them, and an opportunity to get started.

That’s exactly what lovemuldersdriftofficial is helping create through Boxing for a Change.

Started by Marlon Dunn and Lisa, the initiative gives young people access to quality coaching, professional-standard facilities and competitive boxing opportunities, completely free of charge.

But it’s about so much more than boxing. 💛

It’s about building discipline, confidence, resilience and the belief that your circumstances don’t have to determine your future.

One of those stories is Andre Mulumba, who went through four Boxing for a Change tournaments before turning professional. Today, he competes at Emperors Palace, and his journey is inspiring the next generation to dream a little bigger.

Today, around 40 aspiring fighters are part of the programme, each with their own story, potential and dreams.

This is what community transformation looks like: creating opportunities, opening doors and investing in young people.

We’re proud to spotlight the work of our Love Cities partner, Love Muldersdrift, and the difference they’re making, one young life at a time. 🥊❤️

🎉 Our new website is LIVE!

We’ve been working behind the scenes, and we’re so excited to finally share it with you.

At Love Cities, we have a deep love for South Africa and for the people who are giving their time, energy and resources to make their communities better.

We wanted our new website to be more than just a place to find information. We wanted to create a space that is helpful, inspiring and connected, a place where you can discover what’s happening across our cities, learn more about the people and organisations doing incredible work, find practical ways to get involved, and be reminded of what’s possible when we work together.

There’s lots to explore, from our programmes and partnerships to stories of impact and the work happening in communities across our network.

This is just the beginning, and we’re really excited about where this next chapter will take us. 🇿🇦

Take a look around and let us know what you think 👇

A school day turned into a cleanup day! 🧹🌱

We’re proud to highlight the incredible work of our partners at Love Potch , who recently teamed up with the young leaders of Bailie Park Primary School to make a difference in their town.

With willing hands, plenty of energy and over 40 black bags of waste collected, they transformed a key entrance into Potchefstroom. 💪

It’s amazing to see a community coming together and showing that caring for your city starts with each of us.

Well done, Love Potch and Bailie Park Primary! 👏

Making history, creating opportunities, and having fun along the way! 🏏🎉

We’re proud to celebrate the incredible work being done by our Love Cities partner, Love uMngeni (formerly Love Howick) , in Mpophomeni.

More than 300 learners from seven local primary schools recently took part in the community’s first-ever KFC Mini-Cricket Festival, hosted by Cricket South Africa and the KZN Inland Cricket Union in celebration of the International Day of Play.

For many of these young learners, this was their very first opportunity to experience organised cricket — discovering new talents, building confidence, learning the value of teamwork, and simply enjoying the power of play.

Through partnerships like these, opportunities are being created that go far beyond the cricket field. 🏏

This is what community transformation looks like: people and organisations coming together to create opportunities, inspire young people, and help build a brighter future.

Well done to the Love uMngeni team and everyone involved in making this special day possible. We can’t wait to see how this grows! ❤️

Because when we love our cities, we don’t just talk about change, we get involved.

Whether you run with us, support a runner, or share the campaign, you can help make every kilometre count.

🏃‍♂️ Miles That Matter

We’re running for more than the finish line. ❤️

This October, Love Cities South Africa is taking on the Nelson Mandela Marathon in Cape Town with a team of 40 runners — and we’re using every kilometre as an opportunity to make a difference.

Our goal is to raise R250,000 to help support work that creates real opportunities and lasting impact in communities.

Here’s where your support will go:

👟 My Walk — helping provide school shoes to children across South Africa and restoring dignity.

🚀 Growth Mode — equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with skills to grow, lead and create opportunities.

❤️ Love Cities Development Fund — supporting the operational costs and ongoing work that helps us keep serving communities.

You don’t have to run with us to be part of it.

You can simply help us make the miles matter. 🙌

Whether it’s R50, R100, R500 or whatever you’re able to give, every contribution helps us move closer to our goal — and helps turn a run into something that can impact lives far beyond race day.
