Cape Town Connect, What a day of connection, inspiration and action!
Today we brought together passionate changemakers who believe that transforming our cities starts with ordinary people choosing to do extraordinary things together!
From discovering the power of our origin stories to turning vision into action, it was a day filled with fresh perspectives, meaningful conversations and new possibilities.
And what a fitting venue to host our gathering! Gangstar Café is so much more than a coffee shop. It’s a powerful story of second chances, providing training, employment and renewed purpose to former offenders, helping break cycles of crime and gangsterism. A living example of what happens when we choose to see people’s potential rather than define them by their past. A business that doesn’t just serve coffee, but changes lives!
Another highlight was our fascinating “walk-shop” through Cape Town’s inner city with the team from the Mission for Inner City Cape Town. We explored the incredible work being done to reclaim and revitalise public spaces, bring communities, businesses and government together, and breathe new life into the heart of the city. So inspiring to see what is possible when people take ownership of the places they call home!
Through Love Cities, we’re building more than a network. We’re building a movement of people who believe our cities can flourish again — and are willing to play their part in making it happen.
