By becoming a parrot foster parent, you'll not only be providing a loving home to a bird in need, but also helping them discover a new world of possibilities. As a foster parent, you'll be responsible for:

- Providing daily care and feeding
- Managing their health and well-being
- Attending vet appointments

And don't worry, we've got you covered! We'll provide support and resources every step of the way

By opening your heart and home, you'll be giving a second chance to a parrot in need.

Welcome Home!
Lex the little lovebird found a place to call home and a new friend!

Lex (now called Indigo), has settled in wonderfully. With the help of her new sister, Jumanji, she has truly come out of her shell to show her chatty and sassy personality!

I can see through Indigo’s adaptation, resilience and actions the love and patience that you put into her care. How old am I? Approx 17 years

My noise level? Normal

My most annoying vocalisation? High pitched shrieking/whistle whenever I don't like something, or even when I'm being talked to

My cutest vocalisation? Koebaai - when someone picks up keys

My flight ability? Unknown

Can I step up? Not yet, still not getting out of the cage

Do I bite? Yes, I will bite through the cage, also grab you with my foot if I don't like you.

Am I social? No, I whistle, and talk, but when someone approaches the cage I try and move far away.

What type of family do I want? One with lots of patience, I'm not fond of kids

What kind of cage do I need? Dometop

What do I like to eat? I eat my chop, and Avi+ pellets. Love apple and banana snacks. I also love peanuts

Do I pluck? I pluck when I feel nervous, sometimes I pluck my chest fluff so I can put the fluff on my head.

How old am I? 9Years according to previous home

My noise level? High pitched when I want attention or it’s bed time

My most annoying vocalisation? High pitched scream at bed time

My cutest vocalisation? Saying hello, and cute bark

My flight ability? Wings are currently clipped and growing back slowly, I am Able to fly but not far.

Can I step up? Yes I can when I’m comfortable with my person

Do I bite? Only when provoked or threatened. But mostly it’s curiosity and not sore or intending harm

Am I social? I absolutely love attention and being spoken with

What type of family do I want? A family that will look after me, give me attention and love me for the beautiful bird I am.

What kind of cage do I need? A large cage is required as a Patagonia conure are the biggest of the breed

What do I like to eat? Seeds, fruits, pellets and occasional treat

Do I pluck? Not at all

Edit: Guys, please. We are aware of a missing bird in Vredenburg named Zazu. However, this is NOT the same bird. Zazu is a very common name for pet parrots. This one was given to us voluntarily by his legal owners, who live in an entirely different province (Gauteng) from where the other Zazu went missing (Western Cape). Please stop accusing us of stealing a bird or adopting out a lost bird. It is not what is happening here. Vereeniging is not Vredenburg.

My cutest vocalisation? Small chick like sounds, squeaky toy, koebaai, miaau, are just some of my words and sounds

My flight ability? I can't fly at the moment.

Can I step up? Yes, not on command, but understands the gesture when a hand approaches

Do I bite? Sometimes, I will say -STOP IT- then bite hard

Am I social? Very, I step up to anyone willing to reach out. And chat to anyone close to my cage

What type of family do I want? One that can give lots of attention, I have no problem with kids, men or women. But I want to be handled very softly

What kind of cage do I need? Dometop

What do I like to eat? Chop in the morning and my Avi+ pellets. Love banana as a snack. Adore peanuts every now and then.

Do I pluck? Yes, wearing a collar 24/7 as I self mutilate under my wings.
