Midlands Conservancies We inspire, motivate, and challenge our community to conserve KZN Midlands biodiversity.

The Midlands Conservancies Forum (MCF) began in 2010 to share ideas, knowledge and discuss common challenges. Volunteers who care about environmental issues working together will support those who are facing daunting tasks and offer advice to the newer conservancies, too. Learning from one another is a vital component of the forum, as everyone has different experiences to share. If you would like to contribute, send a message and one of the volunteers will reply as soon as they are back from their walk in the hills.

🌿 Reminder: Kilgobbin Forest Walk This Week! 🌿

Don’t forget to join us for the Kilgobbin Forest Walk with Barend Booysen — happening on the first Thursday of the month!

Take a peaceful morning stroll through Dargle’s mist-belt forest, soaking in the sights and sounds of this beautiful local gem. Along the way, enjoy fascinating insights into the area’s history, as well as bird and tree identification. 🌳🐦

💛 R50 donation (100% of proceeds support Dargle Conservancy)

📍 Parking at Crab Apple Chapel in Dargle, D707 off the D17 district road.

🍄 The Dargle Conservancy Invites you to step into the hidden world of fungi with citizen mycologist, Mark Henstock - experience an enchanting adventure revealing dazzling colours, rare treasures and nature’s best-kept secrets! 🍄

When: Saturday, 17 January 2026 at Dargle Forest Lodge.
Time: 10h30 for 11h00 start. +-2Hrs.
Cost: R200pp, R100pp for kids 12 and under.
Limited to only 20 people per event.
