Yesterday, we had a guest speaker Teresa who shared her experiences in completing her studies in Plant Production and is now an emerging farmer growing her own crops for her local markets where she lives. She shared her cycles of growth including the challenges she had to overcome. This was an inspiring discussion with our learners, many of whom can follow the same trajectory.

It's the end of March in Howick. An early winter is around the corner. These are the last few weeks of our luscious vegetable and flower garden. The last of the green landscapes of trees and hills endemic to the midlands. There will be no winter garden at Jirah this year but lots of hot chocolate, warm jackets and cozy fireplaces 👨‍🌾👩‍🌾🫑🥒🍆🌶
