Sarah has been a cornerstone of the Bright Start family for 14 amazing years. From teaching our little ones school readiness and the joy of reading, to keeping them active with fitness, games, and occupational therapy activities, her impact is truly immeasurable. ❤️

Through Sarah’s guidance, our learners haven't just learned how to count in 2s and 3s or read their first words, they’ve also learned invaluable life lessons like teamwork, patience, and how to be both a gracious winner and a good sport.

Sarah, you have watched our kids grow from eager learners into amazing young people, and the Hout Bay community is so much brighter because of you. 🌟

✨ A Wonderful Day with Virgin Wines! ✨

We kicked off an amazing visit from our CSI partners, Virgin Wines , on May 22nd the best way we know how, with a thrilling game of 30 Seconds! 🎲🎉 Everyone had an absolute blast, and it was truly amazing to watch how quickly everyone processed the clues and how brilliantly they explained things.

After the fun and games, it was time for some beautiful reconnections and tours. It was incredibly special for the Virgin Wines team to catch up with the children they have lovingly supported and visited over the last 5 years. 💙

We also took them on a journey through our community, including:

🏫 A school tour at Kronendal Primary School to see where some of our learners thrive daily.
We kicked off an amazing visit from our CSI partners, Virgin Wines, on May 22nd, the best way we know how, with a thrilling game of 30 Seconds! 🎲🎉 Everyone had an absolute blast, and it was truly amazing to watch how quickly everyone processed the clues and how brilliantly they explained things.

The mid-year exam season is officially here! 📚✍️

Our primary school learners at Kronendal Primary School and our high schoolers at Wynberg Girls' High School and have all started their exams this week. We are already so proud of how hard they have been working to prepare.

To all our students: take a deep breath, trust your preparation, and remember that you’ve got this! 💪🌟

We’re here to help you shine. 💙
Whether you need to clear up a tricky concept, practice past papers, or just need a quiet space to focus, our doors are open. We will be dedicating our weekly tutoring sessions at the Bright Start office to focused exam prep and ongoing study support throughout the exam period.

From the trails to the road. 🏃‍♂️✨

Huge news from our incredible friends at Hyperclear. After absolutely smashing their cycling goals, they are trading their pedals for running shoes. 👟

The unstoppable Hyperclear team is taking on the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon next Saturday. 🏅 They are running to sponsor us at Bright Start through their wonderful 'Raise 4 A Child' initiative.

We are beyond grateful and so excited to cheer them on 📣 Every single step they take helps us make a massive difference.

As a proud beneficiary, Bright Start will use these vital funds to:
⚽ Send Presley on a dream trip to represent us at the Gothia Cup in Sweden.
📚 Support our ongoing Education and Mentorship programmes, providing life-changing opportunities for our students.

Our wonderful driver, Johann, caught up with Jonathan, who is now in Grade 8.

For years, Johann was the friendly face ensuring Jonathan arrived safely at his primary school sessions. These days, Jonathan has outgrown the full primary school transport loop; Johann now only drives him safely home after his high school tutoring sessions. But as you can see from those smiles, they haven't outgrown their bond.

More Than a Ride: Johann doesn't just drive our kids; he provides safety, stability, and a warm, familiar welcome at the end of a long day.
Our One-Man Crew: As our sole driver, Johann plays a foundational role in mentoring and protecting our future leaders.
Bonds that Last: The relationships built during the early years stick with our beneficiaries long after they transition into high school. Johann's role may change as our kids grow, but he remains one of Jonathan's biggest cheerleaders.
