Friends of Child Protection (FCP)

Friends of Child Protection (FCP) 'Child abuse casts a shadow the length of a lifetime'~ Herbert Ward They also contain items to soothe and comfort the children such as bubbles and soft toys.

Friends of Child Protection provides as many as 1300 Comfort Packs every second month, which are given directly to abused children by Investigating Officers. The Packs are age and gender appropriate and include basic necessities such as underwear and toiletries. For many, these Comfort Packs are the first new items they have ever received and often the first items that belong entirely to them. We

have come to realize that the emotional effects of these Packs far exceeds their physical contents, and they have a large impact on the children who receive them. We support the FCS Units and other organisations by providing them with resources such as Educational Toys, Therapy Aids, and Professional Debriefing. We furnish Trauma Rooms and we finance the training of Forensic Social Workers.

Today marks the first day of Child Protection Week.
Our Service of Hope and Blessing will be held at 10am on Sunday 31st May at St Peter the Fisherman , Anglican Church 1895 Main Road Hout Bay.
We would love for you to join us in prayer for those affected by violence and to give thanks for the people who work to ease their suffering.

Our Hope is that we can see a reduction in cases involving the neglect and abuse of children everywhere.
