Cape Town Launches Emergency App for Easy Incident Reporting.

The city of Cape Town has launched a new app that allows Capetonians to log emergency incidents with the Public Emergency Call Center without having to speak to an operator.

Download the app to use instead of logging an online Services Request / Fault Report to generate a C3.

The work is planned to take place from Monday 23 March 2026 until Friday 27 March 2026 between 08:30 and 16:00, Monday to Friday, weather permitting and provided there are no unforeseen delays. Residents and business owners can expect some noise during this time.

Hout Bay Water Outage

Ward Councillor Rob Quintas

11 September
15h00

Our teams are onsite at the burst location and have laid a new pipe which is currently being secured and fitted.

Thereafter they will compact the area and begun the process of a slow pressure managed turn on of supply.

Residents should see water restoration by this evening, unless there are further bursts.

The risk of additional bursts is why there is a very slow pressure managed water supply restoration and that takes time.

Tankers will be available at Shell Garage on Main Road, Helgarda Road and at Imizamo Yethu until evening.

Residents are reminded to ensure all taps and water infrastructure at their homes are switched off.

Residents in higher lying areas will have reduced pressure until such time as the supply is fully restored and pressure is adequate.

We apologize for the disruption and inconvenience, our teams are on the ground and attending to this.

Thank you for your patience.
