Happy Mothers Day.

Cape fur seals give birth to one single pup yearly. Their pups are weaned at 10-12 months and getting separated from their mother before can lead to death. During this long period of nursing mothers spend about half of the time out at sea feeding. So their young will rest alone onshore in big nursery groups.
As the saying goes "It takes a village"!
