Youth Week is a reminder of the strength, dreams, and determination carried by our young people 🇿🇦✨

This moment captures Olwakhe — a matric student who lost her home in a fire earlier this year, yet continues to show up, work hard, and keep moving forward with purpose 💛

Through creativity, expression, and community, we continue to walk alongside our youth as they grow and shine 🌿

Our Littlies Ending the Week the Amoyo Way 💃🏽✨

Our Foundation group (age 5-8) wrapped up their week with joyful movement and rhythm as part of our Back to Basics Curriculum – Term 2 focus (Build On). In class with their teacher, Mandisa Qwesha, our children explored simple dance foundations, expression, and coordination through fun, structured exercises and free movement moments. ❤️

These sessions continue to strengthen confidence, discipline, creativity, and self-belief as our students grow step by step within the programme at Amoyo — this is why we do what we do: to give our children a safe space to move, learn, and grow with joy. 🌟

✨ A Throwback From the Amoyo Archives ✨

A little look back at one of our in-house performing arts showcases, where our high school students shared their talent, creativity, and passion for movement. ❤️

Every class, rehearsal, and performance helps our young people grow in confidence and develop valuable life skills through the performing arts.

🎭Creativity, collaboration and community in action!🎭

Last week Friday, 22 May, Amoyo Performing Arts Foundation had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with the Senior Drama Group at Deutsche Internationale Schule Kapstadt for a special theatre workshop focused on connection, creativity and cultural exchange.

The session brought together learners and facilitators through engaging drama activities led by the DSK drama department, alongside an energetic African dance session facilitated by our very own Mandisa Qwesha and Nandipha Sandlana.

From movement and storytelling to laughter and teamwork, the workshop created a meaningful space for young people to connect, express themselves and learn from one another. 🌍💃🎭

We are grateful for this growing partnership and excited for the future collaborations still to come!

Throwback Thursday 💙🎭

A beautiful moment of connection in the studio — Miss Nandipha sharing a warm visit with one of our former learners who stopped by to say hello. She was part of Amoyo many years ago in primary school and, although her journey with us was short due to personal circumstances, the bond clearly remained.

Now in high school, she still felt at home enough to pop in, sit with her teacher, and reconnect with the space where her creative journey once began. Moments like these remind us that Amoyo is more than a programme — it’s a family that stays with you long after you’ve left. ✨
