CREATIVITY IN ACTION AT IMIZAMO YETHU LEARNING HUB 🎨

Look at the passion, focus and pure creativity in our children's eyes!

At the Imizamo Yethu Learning Hub, we are so blessed to have Teacher Ryan who brings out the very best in our kids. Through our wonderful partnership with the Lalela Project, our learners are not just painting pictures - they are painting their dreams, their stories, and their futures.

From blank pages to bold, colourful self-portraits, this is what happens when you give a child a safe space, guidance, and the freedom to create.

Thank you to Lalela Hout Bay and Teacher Ryan for nurturing the next generation of artists and leaders. We are so proud of our young artists!

There is nothing we love more at the Learning Hub than when our volunteers return home! ❤️

Today our hearts are so full. Thank you to our amazing returning volunteers, Eveline, Thomas and our new volunteer Wilfred, for not only coming back to see our kids, but for coming with arms full of love and generous donations.

From books, pencils and learning materials to games like Jenga and Pictionary - these gifts will bring so much learning and laughter to our classrooms.

But more than the gifts, thank you for what matters most taking the time to play, to laugh and to read with our children. The way you connected with them under the tree today is exactly what The Learning Hub is about.

We appreciate you. We love you. Our door is always open for you!

Our Grade 1 and 2 learners partnered with Lalela to create beautiful self-portraits, celebrating their individuality, creativity, and sense of belonging. Every child is unique, valued, and an important part of our community! 🖼️✨

🔢 Number Sense in Action at Imizamo Yethu Learning Hub! 🧮✨

Our Number Sense sessions are evolving, creating more opportunities for learners to engage actively, think mathematically, and develop a deeper understanding of numbers.

We are embracing a more hands-on approach, with our facilitators taking on a more active role through demonstrations, guided activities, and role-play to make learning more interactive and enjoyable. By incorporating physical objects and practical learning materials, our learners can explore mathematical concepts, practise counting, recognise numbers, solve problems, and build confidence through real-life experiences.

At Imizamo Yethu Learning Hub, we believe that children learn best when they can see, touch, explore, and participate. 💙💛

Every session is an opportunity to make mathematics meaningful, strengthen problem-solving skills, and inspire a love for learning!

After a whole weekend apart, there’s nothing more heartwarming than being welcomed back with the biggest, warmest embraces from our little ones! 🥹💕 These hugs remind us that the Imizamo Yethu Learning Hub is more than just a place to learn ,t’s a place where children feel loved, safe, valued, and at home.

Sometimes, the best way for our children to say “I missed you” is through a big hug that speaks louder than words. 🫂❤️

This is why we do what we do to create meaningful connections, build trust, and make every child feel that they belong.
