Last year, the weather certainly tested us!

Rain poured down, shoes got muddy, but the smiles never disappeared.
Thanks to an incredible community, our Heritage Day fundraiser was a huge success despite the conditions.

We're excited to announce that Salt40 Foundation is once again the beneficiary of this year's Rock Up & Run Run Your Roots Heritage Day event on 24 September.

Every entry helps us continue our mission of creating opportunities through sport, supporting communities, and giving pre-loved running and cycling equipment a second chance to make a difference.

Whether you're running, walking, or simply joining us for the great atmosphere, you'll be helping to create a positive impact while celebrating our South African heritage.
Entry includes a commemorative event T-shirt, plus a coffee, beer, or glass of wine at the finish.

Join us at Hops Ballito and help us make this year's event even bigger than the last.

Come down to Rock Up and Run this Sunday at 7:00am from Hops Ballito and enjoy a fun, social morning with the community.

As always, every participant receives a free beer, wine, or coffee after the run or walk – the perfect reward for getting active!

While you're there, be sure to pop past the Salt40 table and say hello. We'd love to chat about what we do, the projects we're involved in, and how you can get involved in making a difference in our community.

Barry’s journey is one of resilience, endurance and determination — a story that has inspired so many both on and off the road. Through his adventures, challenges and achievements, Barry has shown what it means to keep pushing forward no matter the obstacles.
Not only do you get a personally signed copy of an inspiring story, but every cent from these book sales goes directly to supporting the work we do at Salt40.

As one chapter closes, another exciting one begins for Salt40.
Our season at the NG Church in Ballito has officially come to an end, and we are truly grateful for all the support, memories, and impact made during our time there.
A massive thank you to Phaltco Civils for accommodating us with a new storage site, and to IVS Container Services for once again stepping in to assist with our move — this is now the third move they’ve helped us with and we honestly couldn’t do it without them.
Special thanks to Busa (pictured with Nkosi) from IVS, who went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Your support means the world to us.
While one season ends, exciting things are ahead. We are currently planning the Youth Festival at LIV taking place in June, and our mentor programme will also be kicking off soon.
Thank you to everyone walking this journey with us — the best is still to come.

Today we were proud to support the May Day Dash for Dogs in aid of the SA Guide Dogs Association. 🐾

What an incredible day—great energy, an amazing cause, and a community that always shows up when it matters most. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it so special.

And we’re not done yet…
Don’t forget, we’ll be back at Rock Up and Run this Sunday at 7am. Same vibe, same community—just bring your running shoes.
