50 Years of Youth Day 🇿🇦 1 Ground-Breaking Moment for youth with special needs and disabilities 🌱🌈

This June, we turned the sod for a brand-new Youth Centre for Persons with Disabilities on the KZN North Coast.

And today, on June 16th Youth Day, we celebrate what this means: 22 years of the Mikhail D Hope Foundation advocating for and supporting persons with special needs. For too long it’s been zero services to date and now that narrative is about to change. We’re building a space for services, skills training, and real employment opportunities for youth who deserve a meaningful role in society.

This is inclusion in action..30 years into our Constitution that says all people have equal rights.

A huge thank you to KZN DPW&I and MEC Martin Meyer for the role they played in making this momentous day possible. This is what happens when various stakeholders come together with one vision to empower our next generation of leaders.

We are deeply grateful to the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure KZN for providing our organisation with the opportunity to access this land. We are also grateful that the years of dedication by our team, families, and supporters have been recognised. This land represents hope and opportunity for the young adults with autism we serve, and we look forward to continuing our work to build a more inclusive KwaZulu-Natal.💙❤️🎗🌈

The seventh annual Ballito Mother’s Day High Tea for Charity brought the community together for a morning of fashion and female empowerment last Saturday.

Hosted by the Mikhail D iHope Foundation at Lupa Osteria, the Italian-themed event saw guests dressed to the nines in Moda Chic-inspired outfits.

Guests enjoyed talks by speakers from the fashion industry while raising funds for a good cause. The Mikhail D IHope Foundation NPO is currently developing an Adult Autism Centre while continuing to support the local special needs community.
