Circular Lighting Live 2026 is happening TODAY in London, and we're on the ground!

Circular Energy’s Specialist Lighting & Electrical Engineer, Bjorn Smidt Hart, is at the Minster Building for the UK's ultimate circular lighting event.

This year’s mission? "Vision 2040: Restructuring the lighting sector." 🌍 The goal is clear: completely ditch the outdated "take-make-use-waste" model and build a high-performance, low-carbon circular economy.

Bjorn is locking in for insights from industry heavyweights like John McRae (Orms) and Sabine De Schutter (Studio De Schutter) on cutting-edge upcycling and sustainable design strategies.

Stay tuned for his top takeaways and live updates! 🔌🌱

Circular Energy NPC Wins Silver at the Eco-Logic Awards 2026! 🥈🌱

We are incredibly proud to share that Circular Energy NPC has been awarded Silver in the Eco-Innovation Award category at the Eco-Logic Awards 2026 for our specialised e-waste collection vehicle.

Our innovative vehicle was recognised for its highly practical approach to improving e-waste collection management by:
• Reducing breakages during transit.
• Enabling on-site testing and separation.
• Expanding collection access to more communities.
• Supporting the effective recovery of valuable materials.

We also want to extend our warmest congratulations to Sustainable Schools Hub for taking home the Gold Award, and to My Walk Made with Soul for securing the Bronze Award! It is an honour to share the stage with such inspiring organisations.

Beyond the celebration, the evening served as a powerful reminder of the importance of innovation, collaboration, and collective action in addressing South Africa’s environmental challenges.

Two messages from the evening particularly resonated with our team:
1. “You cannot solve problems using the same logic that created them.”
2. “The power of collective action.”

These core principles sit at the very heart of the circular economy. They inspire us to challenge conventional approaches, find smarter ways to utilise resources, and work together to create measurable environmental and social impact.

This is a proud moment for the entire Circular Energy team, and it gives us even greater motivation to keep moving South Africa's circular economy forward! 🌍✨

Great insights and valuable conversations at the Gauteng Waste Indaba 2026! ♻️

The event highlighted the challenges and opportunities facing municipalities in Gauteng's waste management sector, with a strong focus on collaboration and public-private partnerships.

A standout moment was hearing about the City of Johannesburg's planned PPP project worth more than R1.2 billion, showcasing the potential for innovation and investment in waste management infrastructure.

We also had the opportunity to connect with municipalities and industry stakeholders, opening the door to future collaboration and partnership opportunities.

We saw the change! On Saturday, 19 September, communities and conservation leaders united at Durban’s Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve for the International Coastal Cleanup 2026—marking 40 incredible years of global action since 1986!

Circular Energy is incredibly proud and honoured to be among the organisations that contributed to the massive success of this initiative. Led by Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment Deputy Minister Hon. Narend Singh, alongside ezemvelokznwildlife and EDTEA KZN, we rolled up our sleeves to remove waste and protect our marine life. ♻️

Best of all? The turnout of school learners was absolutely impressive! Seeing the youth take charge proved that the future of our planet is in very good hands.
