We equip & empower the unemployed with the grassroots skills needed to find a job for THEMSELVES, keep that job over time & have a vertical career path.

WORK 4 A LIVING is a registered NPO that exists to confronts physical & mental poverty by training & connecting excellent, ethical job seekers with businesses in need of reliable, excellent staff. WORK 4 A LIVING addresses this disconnect in employer relations by starting training centres which run programs that confront issues which are barriers to individuals finding and sustaining employment, a

nd developing a vertical career path such as an attitude of entitlement, dependency syndrome, morals & ethics & poverty mentality. Over the past 18 months 5500 previously unemployed individuals have completed our foundational job readiness training. Of those 5500 students, 65% carried on to upskill themselves & 30% found employment THEMSELVES (that we know of), 190 new businesses were started ,as well as 13 new centres across South Africa & 3 oversees. 🎉🎉 Congratulations to Asavela Tyhokolo , the proud winner of the R1000 prize from Mthatha! 🎉🎉

I joined WORK 4 A LIVING in 2019 when everything seemed impossible. A friend of mine introduced me to this incredible platform filled with amazing people who constantly encourage each other that nothing is impossible. The sky's the limit. I am forever grateful for this opportunity.

The most important thing I gained from this experience is learning about self-value and how to conduct myself in an interview. It used to be my weakness, but now I am always ready and know exactly how to present myself. The confidence and reassurance I received is truly remarkable.

I still remember the interview for the cellular position I currently hold. I had previously been working as a casual and credit position associate. The Area manager even travelled all the way from DBN just to interview me. What he said during that interview still echoes in my mind today. He told me he liked my level of confidence.

I acquired all of these skills and experiences through those classes. And let me tell you, those morning prayers before starting the class were a game-changer. They provided me with the mental and emotional reassurance that things would eventually fall into place. And you know what? They did.

My experience with WORK 4 A LIVING has been amazing! I was unfortunately laid off, but I took the opportunity to enroll in the Job Excellence course and other helpful courses. After that, I decided to move to Mossel Bay in search of new job opportunities.

One day, while scrolling through social media, I stumbled upon an ad that caught my eye. I was determined to secure this job, no matter what the salary was. And guess what? I got it! I worked hard for three months, and then something incredible happened. My manager decided to expand the business and asked me to manage the new shop. Now, I'm both a manager and a cashier, and my salary has significantly improved.

I listened to Mandisa and never gave up. WORK 4 A LIVING gave me the courage to believe in myself again, and I'm grateful for that.

My name is Gugulethu Mdoda and I live in Strand. I sell scones and Russians and I've faced some challenges along the way. Some customers took my products without paying, which made it difficult for me to restock. Additionally, I used to spend my profits on unnecessary things and lend money to people who never paid me back. However, since attending W4AL, I've learned how to run a business more effectively. I now understand that it's important not to spend money on unnecessary items and sometimes you have to prioritize your own success. I am incredibly grateful to WORK 4 A LIVING because they have taught me how to save money and maintain a balance. Thanks to W4AL, I've noticed a huge difference in my business. Every day, I sell my products and deposit my profits. I want to express my gratitude to Sisi Phindile for giving me this opportunity to learn about W4AL.

🎉🎉 Congratulations to Lungelo Zuma, the proud winner of the R1000 employment prize in Pietermaritzburg! 🎉🎉

My name is Lungelo Zuma. I completed the Job Excellence course last year and the funny thing is I did not go to the W4AL Pietermaritzburg centre for the course. I was asking around for a baking class and when I got there it was the first day of the Job Excellence course. The facilitator asked me if I wanted to stay and I decided to stay. I am so grateful that I stayed because it changed the course of my life. When I joined I was in a dark and hopeless place, I had just had my son who was a couple of weeks old and things at home were not looking good. I wanted to do something to make sure my son was taken care of. After finishing the course I went on to do the job experience week with Jumpstart. Luckily for me, I was chosen to do a learnership with Buildit and it has been an amazing experience. When I realized that my internship was about to end I looked at things that I could do because staying at home and doing nothing is not normal. So I started a business selling vests but the plan is to expand the business. I am grateful for WORK 4 A LIVING for not just opening doors of employment but for also changing my mindset. One of my long-term goals is to be a facilitator and open a WORK 4 A LIVING centre.

Good day everyone, my name is Priscilla van Rooyen. I attended the 13-day WORK 4 A LIVING program and it really impacted my journey of finding employment fast. I saw the WORK 4 A LIVING Stellenbosch page and read about the people's successful journey's on how they find permanent employment. That moved me, so I decided to apply and join the course. We really learned a lot in this program, especially on how you should answer and behave in an interview. Our facilitator posted a work opportunity in our group at the beginning of November. I went for my pre-assessment on Wednesday and on Thursday I went for the interview. On Sunday night I received a message that she wanted me to join her team. I was so happy that I finally found permanent employment. And that's the short story of my journey ...All Thanks to the WORK 4 A LIVING program and sir Lutha🙏🫂

My name is Zimkhitha Fokoto, and I am from uTsolo, Eastern Cape. In 2020, I made the bold decision to leave my hometown and seek employment in the bustling city of Cape Town. Since then, I tirelessly searched for a job, and in 2023, everything changed. I first heard about WORK 4 A LIVING through my sister, who was attending a hospitality class led by Vincent Ngwenya. I enrolled in the Job Excellence Course with WORK 4 A LIVING and they played a big role in my success. WORK 4 A LIVING helped me with interview questions, tips on how to dress professionally, and guidance on how to present myself confidently.

WORK 4 A LIVING not only helped me secure a job but also taught me the importance of professionalism and how to conduct myself in the workplace. I am excited about this new chapter in my life.

Greetings to you all. I am Lindo Kubheka. I got an opportunity to study at WORK 4 A LIVING and completed the Job Excellence Course. My facilitator was Mthandazo Ndlozi. I am very grateful to him for teaching me.

It wasn't long before I got a job at Ambleside Meats. These are words that brother Mtha said, "Love your job" and I love my job. But in everything I thank God for this opportunity and I also thank WORK 4 A LIVING for everything they have done for me. God bless you. All glory to Jesus. For those of you who don't know about WORK 4 A LIVING, let me tell you that you will benefit. I am a witness to that.
