Owesifazane Onethemba Empowering women through dressmaking, helping them create beautiful garments for themselves and their communities.

This skill provides income, restores dignity, and nourishes their faith, guiding them to become confident, hope-filled women of God. A skills transfer and mentorship program, where women learn the art of dressmaking. To make beautiful clothes for special occasions for herself and others in her community, this will put food on her table and restore her dignity. She will receive spiritual food and come to know the love of Jesus, making her a beautiful confident woman of God full of HOPE.

Bongiwe Gumede is bringing energy and passion into the Owesifazane Onethemba Advanced Class. She is not just learning to sew; she is learning to express, create and grow into her full potential with every piece she makes.

We are thrilled to share that we had a total of 23 registrations, with 12 students in Shayamoya and 11 students in Melville. Final selections are currently being completed for each site.

Our Beginners Course officially starts on 21 July and will run for 16 weeks, taking place every Tuesday at the respective campuses.

We were also privileged to have the support of the campus principals, teachers and facilitators who assisted with the registration process, helping to ensure everything ran smoothly. They are currently continuing the day with a workshop and lunch, strengthening collaboration across the programme.

We look forward to seeing this new group of women begin their sewing journey, developing valuable skills, confidence and opportunities for the future.
