SWINGING SUCCESS! BBS Mica Build Ballito once again hosted their annual charity golf day fundraiser at Umhlali Country Club Country Club yesterday ⛳💙. 124 Players swung, putted, and played in honour of Beacon of Care.
We are again truly honoured to be chosen as the benefactor and for the funds raised from this meaningful day. Thank you to every player, supporter and sponsor who contributed to towards this and for recognising the need of palliative care in our community, helping us to help those with life-limiting illnesses.💙

We are so thrilled to have our dedicated nurses - Bongi and Busi featured in Get It Magazine - Ballito.Umdloti.Umhlanga in their May edition.

To mark International Nurses Day, we spoke to two remarkable nurses who are making a meaningful difference on the North Coast.

Bongi Mbonambi and Busi Mhlongo are part of the dedicated team at Beacon of Care, a non-profit organisation that provides compassionate home-based palliative care to patients in the community.

Hospice Week (5-11 May) calls for equitable access to quality palliative care for all South Africans - thousands of patients across SA rely on palliative care for dignity, comfort, and support when faced with a life-limiting illness. APCC is calling for a healthcare system where palliative care is recognised, supported and available to all.
Beacon of Care strongly concur with this need, as they assist patients with a life-limiting illness as a collaborative team of health care professionals providing comfort, dignity, and quality of life for patients as well as guidance and support for families.

𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑭𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌: Reaching out to Beacon of Care when my husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer is the best decision we ever made.
This led to a more comfortable and personal connection with this incredible team of health professionals who walked side-by-side with my husband and family throughout his journey. The BOC team saw to Ted's overall wellbeing, comfort, dignity and peace of mind helping navigate and make his journey as stress free and peaceful as possible. Able to share his inner feelings about death and dying, BOC became an essential part of Ted's journey. From supplying equipment to aid mobility and prolonging independence, arranging external equipment -was never any trouble. The love and caring extended beyond patient to family and no matter what our concerns or needs, there was always someone who would step forward to walk beside us at whatever stage. From advice, comfort, prayer, counselling, or an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on, BOC helped us face the reality of death in a dignified and peaceful manner and enabled my precious husband to die at home with his loved ones, which was his abiding wish.
