RECOVERY OPERATION

Earlier today, emergency services responded to an incident near the Verulam area following reports of a person hanging from a bridge.

The recovery operation was conducted Durban Metro Police Search and Rescue, with the assistance of IPSS Search & Rescue.

Sadly, the individual was declared deceased on scene.

Our sincere condolences go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.

We would like to acknowledge the efforts of all responding teams who worked professionally and respectfully throughout the recovery operation.

IPSS Search and Rescue had a fundraiser at Mosambik Ballito.

We would like to thank Mosambik Ballito for their amazing ongoing support and also allowing us the opportunity to display all of our equipment together with our amazing volunteers who were there on the day to chat to the community about what we do and how to support us or give donations.

As you all know we are a NPO (Non Profit Organization) and the aim of the fundraiser on Saturday was to make the community aware of that.

We would like to thank everyone who made donations already and also the ones who have made arrangements to do so.

A big thank you to and Mozambik Ballito for the R10000 donation.

We appreciate the support and a reminder to all that we at IPSS Search and Rescue offer this service to the community with big passion and commitment.

Earlier this morning, IPSS Medical Rescue responded to a tragic drowning incident near Bongimfundo Primary School.

Reports indicate that a 9-year-old boy had been playing with a neighbour’s child near a small dam in the area on Saturday evening when he reportedly fell into the water. The other child later alerted the family when the boy did not return home.

A search was initiated during the night, and sadly the child was recovered from the water at approximately 04:00 this morning.
Despite all efforts, the child was declared deceased on scene.

This tragic incident highlights the serious dangers that dams, rivers, and other open water sources pose, particularly to children.

IPSS Medical Rescue extends our sincere condolences to the family, friends, and community during this incredibly difficult time.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
