The sum of our efforts is a comprehensive community development approach that transforms neighborhoods and delivers hope and opportunity to our neighbors who are most in need. Since our founding in 1981, Westhab has built 1094 affordable housing units, moved 9,149 households from homelessness to affordable housing, placed 8,099 people into employment, and delivered services to over 10,000 homeless

and at-risk youth. We invite you to join us and help us deepen our impact as we serve more people in more communities than ever before.

We're excited to see 30 West featured on News 12 Westchester as this transformative project moves forward.

Now under construction in the Village of Haverstraw, 30 West will create 81 affordable apartments, including 20 homes reserved for formerly homeless residents, while contributing to the continued revitalization of the downtown corridor.

Yesterday, Westhab proudly broke ground on 30 West, our newest affordable housing development in the Village of Haverstraw.

This development will provide 81 affordable apartments for individuals and families earning up to 60% of Area Median Income (AMI), including 20 supportive housing units reserved for formerly homeless individuals, helping ensure that more of our neighbors have access to stable housing and the opportunity to thrive.

30 West is the result of communities, public and private partners, and local leaders working together toward a shared vision. We are grateful to New York State Homes & Community Renewal, Empire State Development, Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, New York State Office of Mental Health, Village of Haverstraw Mayor Michael Kohut, Assemblyman Patrick J. Carroll, County Executive Ed Day, and all of our partners and supporters for helping make this development possible and for joining us to celebrate this important milestone.

Housing is the foundation for stronger communities and greater opportunity. We are excited to bring these much-needed homes to Haverstraw and look forward to welcoming future residents home.

Since 2018, the Westhab First Source Referral Center (FSRC) has connected 2,924 New Rochelle job seekers to employment opportunities, with annual placements nearly tripling from 154 in 2018 to 434 in 2025.

This workforce model strengthens the entire community by connecting job seekers to meaningful opportunities and helping local businesses meet their hiring needs.

We’re grateful for our continued partnership with the of New Rochelle, NY and its commitment to local hiring and economic opportunity. As demand grows, FSRC is focused on expanding its impact and delivering results for job seekers, employers, and the broader New Rochelle community.

Grateful to New Rochelle Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert and her team for coming to talk to our senior tenants at Westhab's Shiloh Senior Residences today in partnership with Shiloh Baptist Church. Amazing to have such an accessible and pro-housing Mayor... who is also able to present to residents bilingually!

Shiloh is one of Westhab's two residences in New Rochelle, in addition to the First Source Referral Center, which placed 434 New Rochelle residents into employment in 2025 alone and 2,924 over the past 10 years.

We’re shining a light on the people strengthening our programs from within.

We’re proud to feature Nicole Mylan-Englenton, LCSW, MPH, recently promoted to Assistant Vice President, NYC Clinical Services at Westhab.

In her new role, Nicole is already making a difference across our NYC shelters by supporting the social workers and case managers at the heart of our work. From coordinating trainings to surveying teams on the resources they need most, she’s focused on building stronger systems of care for both staff and clients.

She also provides clinical supervision to social work students, bringing additional support to our shelter programs citywide.

At a time when retaining social workers is especially challenging, Nicole’s leadership is helping ensure our teams feel supported, equipped, and empowered to do their best work.

We’re grateful for Nicole and for all the social workers whose dedication makes this work possible every day.
