Yonkers Special Education PTA YSEPTA represents all 39 schools of the Yonkers School District in addition to those classified students in preschool and in out of district programs.

We provide a forum for parents, teachers, support personnel and administrators to network.

Join the Yonkers Special Education PTA (YSEPTA) as we proudly march alongside the Yonkers Fire Department Local 628 in the Hispanic Day Parade!

🌟 Let's celebrate our community, culture, and inclusion together while showing support for students and families across Yonkers.

📅 Sunday, June 7th
🕧 Parade begins at 12:30 PM

📍 Parade Route:
Starts at McLean Ave & South Broadway
Ends at the Chicken Island Parking Lot next to City Hall

🚌 Transportation is available! A bus will shuttle participants from the end of the parade route to the front. Pickup begins at 11:45 AM.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families, friends, students, and community supporters are all welcome to march with us!

Agency 101: An Overview of Services to Support Students with Disabilities into Adulthood
Tuesday, June 9, 2026 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm via Zoom

This session will provide an overview of the primary State and community agency providers available in New York state (NYS) and the services each agency offers. Participants, including students and families, will gain knowledge of available resources, appropriate referral options, and related processes. The goal is to increase appropriate referrals, as these supports are shown to correlate with improved outcomes for students with disabilities.

Diploma and Credential Options for Students with Disabilities
Thursday, May 14, 2026 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm via zoom

Participants will learn about self-determination skills and its relation to students determining an individualized pathway to graduation from multiple options. Credit and diploma requirements, the appeal eligibility criteria for all students, and safety-net options for students with disabilities will be reviewed. Learn how earning a Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) Commencement Credential is beneficial in a number of ways and understand the guidelines for the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential which is awarded to students participating in the New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSAA) testing program.
