Back at it AGAIN with our “Feed the Need” Program at Roosevelt High School! Today we had one of our special education 12 to 1 classes volunteer to make the lunches for the homeless! We have been working to make sure all our special education classes rotate into our Shark Works space & get an opportunity to make the lunches and gain volunteer hours while doing so!  🛍️💕💪🏽🦈

Lots of helpers last week making the sandwiches and assembling the lunches for the homeless in Getty’s Square as we continue our “Feed the Need” Community Service Project! So AMAZING seeing ALL the students, both general education and special education, working well together to do something positive for their community! Go Roosevelt Sharks! 🦈📣💕🥪

Roosevelt High School & P.U.S.H. nonprofit organization will be partnering to support the homeless population in Getty’s Square.

This service learning project exposes Yonkers Public School students to community service opportunities within their community and builds a level of empathy & community cohesiveness.

⭐️This is an ignored and forgotten population of individuals who need our HELP!

❤️Our "Feed the Need" Outreach seeks to meet this population "where they are" by bringing bagged lunches to them in the community. Many organizations that feed the homeless, such as Feeding Westchester, only provide food that requires cooking, refrigeration, etc. but most of the homeless on the street do not have these means.
