Twenty years ago this month, launched New York State’s first long-term pediatric ventilator care program!

On August 21, 2006, Max became our very first ventilator-dependent resident and now this program has grown to care for more than 100 children and young adults who require respiratory assistance.

We’re continuing to build on this legacy of pioneering care. When our new young adult center opens, young people like Max will have a home designed to support their complex medical needs as they enter the next stage of their lives.

From one groundbreaking vision to the next, continues to imagine and create possibilities for children, young adults and their families like no other.

Happy heavenly birthday to our foundress who continues to inspire our mission more than two centuries later! Today we celebrate the remarkable woman behind our name and the enduring legacy that continues to guide all we do.

Born on August 28, 1774, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton dedicated her life to serving others, particularly children and families in need. Her extraordinary legacy helped shape Catholic education and charitable care in the United States and ultimately inspired generations of Sisters, including our sponsors, the Sisters of Charity, New York, to carry her mission forward.

That spirit of compassion and service lives on across our family of organizations at as we care for children and young adults with medical complexity and provide needed support for their loving families.

Core summer memories … loading! 🔋

Earlier this month, our children and young adults at in Yonkers enjoyed a good, old-fashioned block party! When the summer heat kept us from taking the festivities outside, we brought all the fun indoors instead.

With a DJ spinning the soundtrack, seasonal games that engaged the senses and an ice cream and lemonade stand serving up sweet treats, our children and young adults had plenty of ways to join in on the excitement and enjoy a memorable afternoon together!

Recognized in the Child Neurologist category, Dr. Cantor has been a valued member of our team since 2005, bringing more than two decades of expertise and compassionate care to the patients and families we serve. Who says learning has to stay in school?! 🐓🐇🦉

Students from our in Yonkers recently visited the Greenburgh Nature Center for a fun and educational field trip. They met several animal friends up close, learned about their habitats and explored the natural world beyond the classroom.

We love giving our students the opportunity to learn through real-world experiences!

Here’s to the next chapter! 🎓

Last week, we celebrated our preschool graduation at in Yonkers! Seven incredible students received their diplomas surrounded by the families, educators and caregivers who have cheered them on every step of the way.

Preschool is a formative time for young learners and we’re so proud of all our graduates have accomplished so far with us.

There’s always something new to discover at ! 🔬🧪

We recently launched “Full STEAM Ahead: Exploring Science Through Play” - a new and hands-on (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) enrichment series made possible through funding from The Toy Foundation!

Our first program invited residents to explore scientific concepts through interactive play, from examining specimens under microscopes to observing chemical “volcano” reactions and experimenting with electrical conductivity using potatoes.

And the adventure is just beginning! We can’t wait to continue exploring the world of STEAM, culminating in a community-wide science fair by year’s end to celebrate our children and young adults and the joy of learning!
