💗 Her mammogram missed a tumor larger than a golf ball. An ultrasound found it.

We are incredibly proud of our board member and breast cancer survivor, Kateri Kenney, for sharing her powerful story in a recent Spotlight on America feature by The National Desk.

Despite having a tumor approximately 2.5 inches in size, Kateri’s cancer went undetected on her mammogram because of her dense breast tissue. It was an ultrasound that ultimately revealed the cancer.

Today, Kateri continues to turn her personal experience into advocacy, helping ensure other women have the knowledge and resources to advocate for their breast health.

Her story is a powerful reminder of why our mission matters. Knowing your breast density can make a lifesaving difference.

As we continue to advocate for breast density awareness, early detection, and access to supplemental screening, we encourage every woman to know her breast density and discuss her screening options with her healthcare provider.

At the heart of Are You Dense, Inc. is the incredible legacy of our founder, Dr. Nancy M. Cappello. Her passion, determination, and unwavering commitment to educating women about dense breast tissue continue to inspire everything we do.

As we reflect on our 11th Annual For the Girls & Guys Brunch, we are reminded of the powerful mission Nancy started and the countless lives her advocacy has touched.

Nancy may no longer be with us, but her voice, her vision, and her legacy live on through every survivor, supporter, and advocate who continues to carry her mission forward. 💗
