Woodbury Scholarship Fund Dollars for Scholars In 1992 the Woodbury Scholarship Fund affiliated with Dollars for Scholars, a program of what is now Scholarship America.

The mission of the Woodbury Scholarship Fund is to provide financial assistance to Woodbury, Connecticut students in order to help support and encourage the completion of their post secondary education. While still managed entirely on the local level, membership in this national organization provides tax exempt status, access to a wide scope of scholarship information and expertise, and in some cases, the availability of matching grants.

Announces 2025 Recipients

Twenty-one 2025 high school graduates and 26 current college students are this year’s recipients of scholarships sponsored by the Woodbury Scholarship Fund Dollars for Scholars.

A total of $122,850 in named endowments and grants was awarded based on Scholarship, Motivation and Need as well as criteria specified by individual funds. Nonnewaug High School graduating seniors in the Vo-Ag Program, residing in area towns are also eligible for specified scholarships.

This year’s 21 high school recipients and their respective colleges are: Chelsea Davis, Colgate University; Emma DeFrancesco, Fairfield University; Jonathan Echman, Massachusetts Maritime Academy; Katherine Farrell, Boston College; Kelly Farrell, Boston College; Thomas Harris, Arizona State University; Kathryn Hartery, Dean College; Ian Hubbard, Colby-Sawyer College; James Levario, University of Connecticut; Sophia Marzella, Misercordia University; Zara Minaya, Naugatuck Valley Community College; Lincoln Nichols, Anna Maria University; Kyleigh Paige, Southern Connecticut State University; Ava Parks, University of Connecticut; Audrey Rogers, Marist University; Gavin Sandor, Yale University; Liam Sandor, University of Connecticut; Noah Sapack, Suffolk University; Alexandre Tracy, University of Connecticut; Grace Walkup, Northeastern University; Chloe Weaver, Northeastern University.

Woodbury Scholarship Fund Dollars for Scholars® is excited to be participating in this year's Give Local fundraising campaign!

Hosted by the Connecticut Community Foundation and sponsored by Ion Bank Foundation for the 12th consecutive year, Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills will be held on April 24 - 25 to benefit the vital work of hundreds of nonprofit organizations in the region, including the Woodbury Scholarship Fund Dollars for Scholars organization.

This is a 36-hour online give-a-thon beginning at 7am on Wednesday April 24 and ending at 7pm on Thursday April 25, where donors make secure donations to the Woodbury Scholarship Fund, and every dollar donated is boosted with bonus funds provided by Connecticut Community Foundation.

The Woodbury Scholarship Fund Dollars for Scholars has named the 24 2023 high school graduates and seventeen current college students who are this year’s recipients of scholarships.

Named endowments and grants in the amount of $113,250 was awarded based on scholarship, motivation and need as well as criteria specified by individual funds.
