2020......

Listening to a sermon this morning and this was sooooo deep:

2020 or 20/20 which represents vision. We are seeing things more clearly this year than we've seen any other year. Each New Years resolution we declare that we want the new year to be better. For those of us in relationship with Christ, we ask God to do WHATEVER it takes to get more of Him, hear from Him, receive from Him......

So far He has made everyone still, changed everyone's everyday routine, took the focus off of themselves (for the majority of us) and is allowing us to see who REALLY is in control. Not the government, not hospitals, not vaccines, not medicines, not stimulus payments. None of this is controlling this situation. Only God can control this. He's wanting us to seek Him and depend on Him to get us through this. Even through heartache and devastation. He's desiring to spend life with us not just here but for eternity. So take a minute and use 2020 (20/20) as a time to see where you are spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially!!!

And if you don't know Jesus, don't believe in Him, or even gave up on Him. Now is the time to reconsider. If not now you will no matter what see him with 20/20 vision ....but what capacity do you want it to be in....your choice!!!

Love now, love hard!! We can make it out of this faster if we all do it together!!!

Have an amazing Monday!!! 💜💜💜

Today’s devotional....

Unbelief.

Unbelief will derail your destiny. Unbelief will harden your heart. When you allow unbelief to settle in the roots of your heart, it will contaminate every area of your life. What are you hiding within the walls of your heart? What contaminated seeds are trapped within the foundation of your heart? Choose to pluck up fear and plant faith in every area of your life.

Fear is the precursor to unbelief. Fear feeds doubt and unbelief. Whether fear is derived from a failed attempt, or from a negative experience — fear establishes the environment for doubt and unbelief to thrive. Feed your faith and starve your doubt. Choose to surrender to God and meditate upon His Word. When you feed your faith, with God’s Word, unbelief shrinks and doubt dies. Create an environment of faith by speaking and confessing God’s Word.

Unbelief is like a poisonous venom, its reach spreads across everything that you touch and contaminates your faith — paralyzing your destiny. Doubt restricts your faith and unbelief causes you to shrink. When you allow doubt and unbelief to speak louder than your faith, their voices will begin to strategically deteriorate your faith.

What’s eating at your faith? What’s distracting you from pursuing everything that God has for you? Unbelief is the manifestation of a hardened heart. Let God’s Word soften your heart. Let His Word remove and wash away the bitterness of the past. Let His Word pierce every area of your heart that’s not like Him. Let His Word examine every area of your heart. Pluck up every trace of doubt and decide to kill unbelief

Excerpts from a devotional..

He wants all of you

For such a long time, I thought giving God most of me was good enough. I thought since I prayed, attended church and would attempt to do what is right, that was enough for God. The reality is, God wants all of our lives, not just a part of it. Read Mark 12:30.

Partial obedience = disobedience
What does it mean to give God your all? It means to stop clinching your fists and to stretch out your hands to God. For so long, I put things, people, relationships, and careers over God. I thought if I was a little obedient, or if I took a short cut, I would still receive the promises of God. But, when God says obey, He will not settle for partial obedience. For this reason, anytime I would step out of the will of God; I would immediately be convicted and corrected. But anytime I was obedient, God truly blessed me beyond my belief. Refer to Isaiah 1:19.

Surrender

When you decide to give God your all, it requires surrendering every area of your life to Him. Even when it does not make sense, I have learned to obey Him. You know what really amazes me? Every time I let go of something, He usually gives it right back, but with lagniappe. Lagniappe is a word often used in New Orleans, which means a little something extra!

Obedience is better than sacrifice

I love the passage in the Bible that speaks about Abraham preparing to sacrifice his one and only son. As soon as he prepares his son for sacrifice, God exclaims, “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” He said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son” (Genesis 22:12 NIV).

The angel of the Lord proclaimed, “I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars...your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me” (Genesis 22:17-18 NIV). God is no different in our lives. The moment you follow Him, surrender, and let go, God promises He will bless you.

You have to trust that God knows what is best for you. If something is not working in your life, you have to give it up to Him. When you surrender and align your plans with His, it may hurt for a moment, but God will turn your sadness into joy and give you strength. Read Nehemiah 8:10. You will get to a place and wonder, why didn’t I trust God in the first place? He will give you more than your heart could have ever imagined. I promise, you will obtain peace, which the world cannot give to you.

Reflection: Is there an area in your life where you have not been obedient? Ask God to help you to be obedient in this area. Request the Holy Spirit to give you the grace to be obedient. Let the Holy Spirit reveal what steps you should take as you become more like Christ.

ARMS OF GRACE - LUKE 15 :11-32

If you grew up in Sunday school like I did, or spent any amount of time in church, there’s a good chance that like me, you’ve heard a few sermons on the parable of the prodigal son. However a little while ago I listened to a sermon where they explained this parable in the most memorable way i’ve heard it. What they were proposing was that this passage should not be called the prodigal son, but instead “the Good Father”.

There is something so beautiful about this parable when you switch your focus from the son, to the Father.

I know that in someway we all can relate to the at least one of the sons. The son who squandered everything, who ran away thinking of ourselves only to get taken advantage of or make poor choices. Or the son who did everything the right way, but struggles with pride or jealousy when we see grace extended to someone who didn’t work as hard as us, or doesn’t “deserve” it in the same way we feel we do.

However, when you take a step back and begin to see this story not just with the son as the focus but with the Good Father as the focal point, it becomes such a beautiful picture and insight into our Heavenly Father. With no hesitation He gives gifts to His children even when he knows that the son in the parable, or that we in our lives probably won’t steward the gifts in the best way that we should or could. One of my favorite parts happens in vs 20, as the son was making his plan to return to the Father hoping to be hired back as just a servant. It says “ But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him”.

Not only do we have a Heavenly Father who forgives us and takes us back with no questions asked, no matter what we’ve done. or how long we’ve been gone for. He’s waiting and watching for the moment that we simply turn back towards Him, so that He can run to meet us, with His arms of grace open wide to welcome us home and embrace us.

As we live our lives and inevitably make mistakes, if we could have that image branded into our minds of the Good Father, arms open wide running to meet us, wrap us up in a hug and take us back home. That would change the way a lot of us live our lives.

I’m so glad we serve such an incredible loving God, ready to run to us and embrace us any time we turn towards Him.

PROPHECY YOUR PROMISE - PSALMS 23

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil”

This last season of life for us, has been one where we’ve had to constantly battle fear and anxiety. A season where our reliance on the Presence of God and the truth of His word has become more and more real. Some of the keys we’ve found and been leaning into have been things like staying connected to community, people we trust and love who can speak truth into situations. Processing with the Lord through songwriting, and digging deep into scriptures that speak truth over our situations and tear down lies we might be believing.

Psalms 23 has been one of the chapters that has kept us grounded in the truth throughout this process. As you read the psalms you get to see David in every part of the journey. A lot of expectation, wisdom, and a lot of processing in what seems like the middle of the journey, before everything is finished or figured out.

I love the moments where it seems like he speaks or declares over himself truth even when it doesn’t feel like he’s walking in the fullness of it. Moments like “even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL” or “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies”

I love the picture of God showing up in the middle of the battle, setting a beautiful table and serving a meal when we’re surrounded by the enemy. God is not stressed about the battle, He sees the outcome before the battle even began. The same thing is true when it comes to our lives. When we’re battling fear, depression, or anxiety over the hard things in life, I read this scripture and remind myself that God is with us. He shows up in the middle of the process even when we don’t fully see it. He guides us through the dark seasons, and even when we’re surrounded, God is so confident in the outcome and His goodness that He sets a table in the middle of it all. My hope is that I’m aware of what God is doing enough to see when He sets a table for me. Whether it be through community, through a specific scripture, or just speaking truth to a moment through the bible or His still small voice.

I pray that as we read through Psalms 23, we become aware of God working for our good in the middle of our journey. Even when we don’t understand, that we would see His truth breaking down our walls and lies we’re believing and lead us into deeper trust and relationship with Him.

Good morning! Starting this week, Soul Worth Ministries will be posting "Letters of the Heart". A weekly love letter to those that are dealing with a loss of a love one. We think of a loss as just being in death, but many people are suffering loss from the disconnection of once viable relationships. Each week, a letter will be posted and comments and reflections are greatly appreciated.

In the coming month we will create a closed group that will allow people to express their own letters of the heart and allow people the ability to help one another heal in one of the hardest places a person can go through.....loss!

Please share, like our page and most of all pray for one another! It changes hearts, minds and souls, because we all are worth it!!
