π We are walking this Saturday! π
We're excited to celebrate Ellery and give hope to others.
We walk to help give all babies a healthy start in the March for Babies, the March of Dimes' largest fundraiser! The March of Dimes provides grants for research and development of new therapies, provides support to families with a baby in the neonatal intensive care unit, and educates moms-to-be on healthy pregnancies. March of Dimes has also pioneered therapies like the polio vaccine, surfactant, nitric oxide and folic acid. And did you know, the APGAR score given to assess the health of newborn babies was developed by Dr. Virginia Apgar, who was instrumental in guiding the work of March of Dimes to birth defects and premature birth? She also lobbied for the use of Rh immune globulin (RhoGAM) in pregnant women to prevent hemolytic disease of a newborn baby due to Rh incompatibility - something I received during my three pregnancies. We're all impacted by the breakthrough work of the March of Dimes!
We would be honored to have your support for our walk and the March of Dimes to continue the mission of preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Our team has currently raised $2030, but we're hoping to reach $3000 before the walk on Saturday. Thank you for considering! https://www.marchforbabies.org/ellerysmom
