Mrs. Tereasa made these announcements yesterday during the pantry distribution.
In case you missed it:

URGENT UPDATE — EPS S.O.U.L Food Pantry Community, we are making some important changes to ensure we can continue serving you effectively.

​Effective Thursday, October 8, 2026, our new hours on Thursdays will be 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This adjustment is necessary due to a shortage of consistant volunteers and the approaching winter season ( darker earlier).

​Additionally, we are STRICTLY enforcing our appointment policies. A 15-minute grace period will be provided for VERIFIABLE EMERGENCIES ONLY.
If you miss your appointment time and do not qualify for a verifiable emergency ( **subject to our discretion**), you will not be able to receive food assistance that day.
Finally, online appointments must be canceled ONLINE at least 20 minutes before the scheduled time to arrive; otherwise, they will be marked as no-shows. Due to space constraints and the onset of cold and Flu season, If you arrive early, please WAIT IN YOUR CAR until 5 minutes before your appointment time.

** We are aware of the chaotic traffic patterns created as a result of the road improvements underway on and near Minnieville Rd, Smoketown Rd and Prince William Parkway. We kindly ask that you plan your routes accordingly to ensure that you are able to make your pantry appointment on time. A grace period of 15 minutes will be given in case of emergencies only. Due to limited volunteer availability, the EPS Popup scheduled for Thursday, September 24, 2026, will be condensed.

We are urgently seeking reliable volunteers to support our food rescue and client-facing services during the specific days and times below.

Please review the availability carefully before signing up. We especially need volunteers who can commit to the listed times and remain reachable when contacted. While we greatly appreciate everyone who has previously volunteered, some current volunteer availability does not align with our critical operational windows. Reliable coverage during these times is essential to keeping our food rescue operations running smoothly.

📢 PSA: PLEASE CANCEL IF YOU CAN’T MAKE YOUR PANTRY APPOINTMENT

We’ve recently been experiencing a high volume of no-shows for our Thursday Pop-Up Pantry appointments, and we want to take a moment to remind everyone of our appointment policy.

When you reserve a food distribution appointment and do not attend, that appointment could have been used by another family in our community who needed assistance.

👉🏽 If you realize you can no longer make your appointment, PLEASE cancel it — even if you’re noticing close to your scheduled time. Canceling allows the spot to become available for another family to claim.

⚠️ Please be aware: After 3 no-shows, individuals will be banned from future food sign-ups. This policy helps us make sure our limited appointments are being used by families who are able to attend.

📌 A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

🔗 We do NOT monitor the sign-up link in real time.
If you cancel your appointment and a spot becomes available, it may appear on the sign-up link. If you happen to see an opening on the same day before that appointment time, you are welcome to claim it.

⏰ Once the appointment time has passed, that spot is no longer available.
Likewise, once the day has passed, any remaining openings from that day’s distribution cannot be claimed for a future distribution.

🚫 Walk-ins are NOT available unless specifically announced.
Please do not come to the pantry expecting to receive food without an appointment unless our team has announced that walk-ins will be accepted for that particular distribution.

We understand that life happens and circumstances can change. We simply ask that you communicate through the cancellation option whenever possible so that another family has the opportunity to receive assistance. ❤️
