The Armed Services YMCA is honored to partner with Arrow McLaren this weekend at the Indianapolis 500 as they “Purple Up” for military children. 💜

We’re proud to stand alongside Ryan Hunter-Reay as he takes the track and helps shine a spotlight on the incredible strength and resilience of military children everywhere. From frequent moves to long deployments, military kids serve too, and this weekend is a meaningful opportunity to celebrate and support them on one of racing’s biggest stages.

We’re proud to announce the opening of our newest Armed Services YMCA Child Development Center in Arlington, Virginia this week, serving military families in the National Capital Region!

This marks the second of three new centers opening as part of our continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality, affordable child care for military families.

Through this new center, families in the National Capital Region will have greater access to safe, nurturing, and reliable care that supports mission readiness and family well-being every day.

Childcare that understands military life is essential to helping military spouses pursue and maintain meaningful careers. Frequent moves, deployments, and the demands of military life can make consistent employment incredibly challenging, even for highly skilled spouses ready to enter or re-enter the workforce.

This Military Spouse Appreciation Day, we’re proud to partner with USAA through its Honor Through Action program to launch Mission Watch, a new initiative providing free short-term childcare support for military spouses during job searches, interviews, networking, training, and PCS transitions.

By removing one of the most common barriers to employment, this program helps open doors to opportunity while honoring the resilience and strength of military spouses everywhere.

This Teacher Appreciation Week, we are proud to celebrate the incredible educators across the Armed Services YMCA.

From early learning classrooms to school-age programs, our teachers show up every day with patience, creativity, and heart. They help children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn, while also understanding the unique needs of military families and the challenges that come with military life.
