Over the past 60 plus years, the Gainesboro Ruritan Club, a service organization, has supported the following groups:
-Scholarships (4 each year)
-Teacher Appreciation Meal for Teachers and Staff from Apple Pie Elementary, Indian Hollow Elementary, and Gainesboro Elementary Schools. Providing an outstanding 5th grade student, both boy and girl, with a gift card and a pewter cup for their great wo

rk. Known as the Lester Daily-Elmer Venskoske Award.
-Donations to both the Gainesboro and Reynolds Store Fire and Rescue
-Assist with the Elementary School Back Pack Program
-Donated and assisted with Operation Remember
-Paid for Veterans meals on Veteran's Day at Hayfield Restaurant
-Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, FFA, local Food Pantries, Free Health Clinic, Blue Ridge Hospice, WATTS, Hunters for the Hungry, and many more!

Our club had a great time helping the Frederick County Fair with the entrance gates Friday night.

Many of our members help throughout the week also...assisting with the animals, feeding the 4-h children, showing animals, helping with exhibits, and being members of the fair board.

Our Ruritan Club works hard to give back to the community. With all of our hard work we are able to make donations to organizations in Frederick County and surrounding areas.

This month we were pleased to donate to Reynolds Store Fire and Rescue and Family Promise.

If you would be interested in helping the community with us, our meeting is every 3rd Thursday of the month at the Gainesboro Fired Dept (upstairs) at 6:30PM. If you have any questions, feel free to message us.

At our monthly meetings we try to have a speaker whether it be a local club, organization, or a business. This past meeting James Wood High FFA joined us and told us about how great their year has been, projects they have been doing, and what's to come. This is an amazing group of students; we were grateful to have them join us for the evening!

On April 15th, we were privileged to honor Teachers and selected 5th grade students from Apple Pie Ridge Elementary, Indian Hollow Elementary, and Gainesboro Elementary Schools for our Teacher Appreciation Celebration.

The following students were given a 5th Grade Outstanding Student Award. They received a Jefferson pewter cup and a gift card from the Gainesboro Ruritan Club.

Indian Hollow: Taylor Robey and Emiliano Cabrera-Pleites
Gainesboro: Audrey Sutphin and Jayden Gutierrez-Martinez
Apple Pie Ridge: Alexander Hensen and Almila Mohammadi

A delicious meal was catered by Fizzles BBQ, and with the community’s help, many of the teachers received amazing door prizes.
