LFHD’s Safety & Wellness Day has been rescheduled to Sunday, 10/20 from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Lord Fairfax MRC will be attending this event and highlighting how MRC volunteers support safety, health, and wellness in their communities. We hope to see you there!

LFMRC will be supporting LFHD’s upcoming Safety & Wellness Day event during National Preparedness Month in Front Royal from 1:00-6:00pm on Tuesday, 9/17. Our volunteers will be providing REVIVE! trainings and dispensing Naloxone, as well as passing out resources about the programs at your local health department, including our local MRC Unit.

Today is National Fentanyl Awareness Day- a reminder for all of us to come together and fight the fentanyl crisis that is impacting the nation. Fentanyl testing strips and Naloxone are always available for free at your local health department! Learn more at: www.fentanylawarenessday.org

Two of our rockstar Lord Fairfax MRC Volunteers staffed Fentanyl Awareness Day pop-up outreach tables to conduct Rapid REVIVE! trainings and distribute Naloxone to community members. We’ll be at CVS in both Woodstock and Luray at their respective locations on Thursday, 5/9 from 11:00am-2:00pm. Come see us and learn how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose!

One pill can kill. Do you know how to properly identify and respond to an opioid overdose? Visit us at our pop-up tables in all LFHD localities to learn more about harm reduction resources, including how to use Naloxone (NARCAN®) and fentanyl test strips.

The Virginia Department of Health offers free car seats and booster seats along with education to eligible families in Virginia. To qualify, applicants must be:

- Medicaid, WIC, or FAMIS eligible or meet certain income guidelines
- A resident of Virginia
- A parent, legal guardian, or foster parent of a child who is 7 years old or younger, or at least in the last trimester of pregnancy
- Attend a car seat installation and use class
- Sign a waiver of liability release form
