The Mayor helps us unveil the Middletown station signs, bringing the station another step closer to completion. Also thanks to Consolidated Electric of Wi******er for providing a bucket truck, substantially assisting in installing and unveiling the signs (and other high altitude work).

We have an amazing team working on completing the station! Today Phil Lemieux of Phil Lemieux Construction and none other than Middletown's Mayor, Charles Harbaugh IV, began work on the installation of the deck around the station. Also the deck materials were generously contributed by Trex Company, Inc. What a wonderful demonstration of the exceptional support the station project is receiving.

Today Wilson's Asphalt Maintenance finished the parking lot, adding signage and wheel stops. The finished parking lot, thanks to the skills of Judy Construction and Wilson Asphalt Maintenance, looks fantastic. After months of parking in the gravel and mud, what a pleasure it will be to park in a neat, clean parking lot as our interior construction efforts continue.

The progress continues! Today the parking lot received its stripes courtesy of Wilson's Asphalt Maintenance. Who knew this was such a precise and meticulous process?

Further, Wilson has very generously agreed to make a contribution to us equal to their cost! The generosity and support we have received from the community has been just overwhelming.

You can join in the support by participating in our "golden spike" program. Donors of $100 or more will receive a genuine B&O/CSX spike found on the station site and a certificate of authenticity. Interested? Email us at [email protected].

And there it is, all paved and soon ready to receive visitors (parkers?). Stripes and wheel stops should be next.

Major progress on the station today! Judy Construction completed compacting the stone base and then the pavers laid the asphalt to pave the parking lot. When completed, the lot will provide great access to the station.

With apologies to Joni Mitchell, you don't think about how much work it takes to "put up a parking lot."

Visit by a signal maintainer. He drove his hi-rail vehicle down the tracks to the crossing then drove off the tracks to the signal box. The signal box is filled with huge batteries (the bottom row in the box) and numerous large relays (some dating to the 1930's) that operate the crossing signal light. Everything works now.
