Into the upper Schuylkill River Watershed we went, where we had a great view from Kittatinny Ridge of preserved land in the Appalachian Trail viewshed, and then to Last Chance Angus, LLC, where we met Ned, the guard llama.

Holy cow (or sheep 🐑), that’s a beautiful stream restoration! Last week, SAN’s Agriculture & Stormwater Workgroups visited Watts Farm to tour a successful stream restoration project featuring mudsill cribbing, 1,700 newly planted trees and shrubs, upland pollinator habitat, and rotational grazing for the sheep paddock.

This is just one of the many stunning conservation projects made possible through the hard work and collaboration of SAN partners.

If you're a teacher who loves kayaking/canoeing, camping, and immersive outdoor experiences, don't miss the opportunity to join the 112-mile Schuylkill River Sojourn, paddling from Schuylkill Haven to Philadelphia. The Schuylkill Action Network is funding one teacher to participate in this one-week trip and bring their experience back to the classroom.
