๐ง Road Construction is Everywhere. Let's Keep Everyone Safe. ๐ง
If you've driven around Brunswick County lately, you've probably noticed road construction happening in several areas. While these projects may slow us down for a few minutes, they're making our roads safer for years to come.
As you travel through work zones or pass emergency scenes, please remember North Carolina's Move Over Law:
โก๏ธ If you see law enforcement, fire, EMS, NCDOT, tow trucks, utility crews, or road construction vehicles stopped with flashing lights, move over one lane when it's safe to do so. If you can't safely change lanes, slow down and proceed with caution.
A few simple reminders can help protect the men and women working just feet from moving traffic:
๐ Slow down and obey posted work zone speed limits.
๐ Put your phone away and eliminate distractions.
๐ Leave extra following distance.
๐ Merge early instead of waiting until the last second.
๐ Watch for workers, equipment, and changing traffic patterns.
Every roadside worker, deputy, firefighter, EMT, tow operator, utility worker, and highway crew member wants the same thing at the end of the day, to make it home safely to their families.
A little patience behind the wheel can save a life.
Move Over. Slow Down. Stay Alert. Together, we can keep Brunswick County's roads safe for everyone. ๐๐
